Uh, I've heard no word of it being removed. So, I would assume there is still a potential rating.

I don't like the idea of a potential rating but I'm pretty sure it's still in.

I think potential rating has to do with "even if the player sits on the bench, he will go up a certain amount" and once a player reaches a certain age "he will go down by a certain amount, with a dash of what his production was"

this pretty much sums it up, certain players always progressed a certain amount. Steve Breaston always became a 90 or 91 OVR in year two of franchise it didnt matter if he had 12 catches or 99 catches. He progressed the same due to being an "A Potential" meanwhile guys who were C potential could have monster years and progress maybe 1-2 pts because they had C potential. The system is fucking broken. All I want is the ps2 days where your progression was directly tied to production. I liked that system anyways. Guys could take a mediocre player and boost him up pretty nicely if they amassed great stats with him. Guys didnt go up specifically because they had an A potential even if they didnt play much.

it changed the way people draft in online franchise as well. It sucks to have a D or F potential player on your roster because you know they are not going to go up many points OVR from what they came into the league as no matter how great of stats you put up.
