Pretty much yeah, I'll still use the PS3 for everything else. Offtopic told me I could just install onto a thumb drive up to 16GB?

I didn't think you could install games to thumb drives but wtf do I know?

I know you can use them as storage but I didn't think you could install to them.

Edit: Apparently you can but I would read this post from a Giant Bomb user in a thread on the subject...

You can but it should be noted that the USB 2.0 is about 1/3 the speed of the slowest SATA interface, which is was the 360 HDD uses. A guy on another site timed load times on a game and the USB device was slower than reading it straight from the disc.

I might just have to deal with it then, 100 extra for the 250gb is not worth it to me

Question but why are you worried about installing it? It's not like some games on PS3, you don't have to install it to play it...

Yeah Twigg you're not the most technically acute person I know haha. Finished campaign a few hours ago and the story was pretty good, I'll probably go through it again and bump the difficulty up for a challenge.

campaign is kicking my ass legendary is fucking hard and your teammate ai is stupid (just went on a mission and my ai just stood there after my 3rd objective) overrall though its pretty good although im missing master chief

Question but why are you worried about installing it? It's not like some games on PS3, you don't have to install it to play it...

I just didn't know if it made a huge difference in load times, specifically for multiplayer.

I've never played the campaign in any FPS besides Turok & Goldeneye on N64

I like the clone one. Works perfectly in snipers and close-combat.

It wasn't me that was talking about installing. I told him it wasn't necessary. I said he needed a lot more room if he planned on playing any other games.

playing a game installed off the hard drive will not make any difference in load times or MP.

pastapadre has done some comparisons for sports titles and the only change is during load times but its such a small difference that u wouldn't notice it.

the main reason to install is to save wear and tear on the system and reduce noise. I imagine u would be getting a new slim model which is supposed to be very quiet

It took me and 2 friends about 5 hours and 10 minutes to beat it on heroic. I imagine if you were playing solo you would be reaching somewhere near the 8 hour mark.

I don't even want to imagine legendary yet.

What is everyone's favorite MP game so far? I played elite slayer last night, it was fun as hell

I'd be down. I think I played the first 7 levels last night? And there are 9, right? We were playing on Legendary.

I think the campaign is pretty cool but there are a few things about that game that bug me. I know Bungie was basically the innovator of FPS controls on consoles but why do they insist on having zoom still on the right stick? Is there a way to change it? Also, there were countless times where the four of us had no fucking clue where we were supposed to be going and there were several alternate paths. Very confusing. Sometimes the game would give you a nav beacon but not often enough.

I noticed that they had the Halo 2 maps of Sanctuary and Ascencion. BEAST!!! And I think I saw Coagualtion as well?

We should definitely do some custom games or matchmaking. I'm pretty damn good at this game, add me: Miami Flash15.
