    EA announces tuner sets, and patch #2

    -tuner set available next week:

    Our first LTP should be arriving next week along with detailed notes on what the update contains. I can tell you that based on the collective feedback we've received, we will be carefully down-tuning the athleticism of defensive lineman and reduce the number of impressive picks by the big guys. We're also looking to address a few important dynasty progression and recruiting issues.

    -patch available mid august

    More details on the client update to come, but here are three of the big ones we've solved:

    -- RANDOM PLAY ACTION CRAZINESS - Sure it looks funny, but annoying as heck when it costs you a drive or a game. We're sorry we missed this one as well and apologize for the issue.

    -- SEASON SHOWDOWN STATS REPORTING - The season showdown warning is harmless right now and this issue and related lobby problems ultimately get fixed with the update.

    -- UNIFORMS THAT NEVER NEED WASHING - This is one of the more painful ones for us given all the work on visuals this year. The game actually does degrade uniforms; unfortunately we broke something in a final build that made the impact way too subtle. Consider this one solved with the update. And we want you to know that we've really been enjoying the great "Art of NCAA Football" threads. It's clear we have some incredible photographic talent in our community! So I expect things will go next-level when the update rolls out. For example, this shot comes straight out of the updated game:

      so when people use the word "tuners" that is talking about EA tuning certain aspects of the game?

      i wonder if they have any plays for the DB route running issue that everyone has complained about

        That's easily corretable with sliders.

        I'm more worried about the progression/recruit creation engine issues with dynasty.

        Hopefully the never ending fumble glitch is corrected too.

          LOOKING AHEAD

          My apologies to longtime fans like ODogg who can't find peace without dreadlocks. ;-) Or others who've been aggressively petitioning for broadcast cameras or bowl patches. We just weren't able to get them into NCAA Football 11 given all the other work we had to take care of this year. And unfortunately, these aren't things that we can simply "patch in". I can tell you they're on our wishlists as well and we hope to get to them in a future version. Look for a link to a new Satisfaction and Feature Request Survey in my next blog.

            This is great news. With a couple of fixes this could really be a great game. Just some of the issues are starting to become more than slight issues. Glad they finally spoke up about fixing them.

                I'm just worried that the progression and recruiting issues can be fixed with current dynasties, and we don't have to start over.

                  Yeah and in the process you downgrade the effectiveness of zone coverage and other areas that affect pass coverage making the game easier in the end. And btw..sliders dont work online.

                  The pass coverage is broke. hard to fix somethin broke with sliders.

                  i havent played this game in 5 days. thats a record for shortest amount of time given up on an ea game. i think im finally reaching the point where i cant tolerate anymore bawshit. in a few years i may not be buying the game at all.

                      i have been noticing the DB route running alot more the past 2 days. Probably cause i am looking for it now. But it isnt hurting my ability to move the ball or get passes to my #1 and #2 WR in any 2 WR set

                      i wish they had 2 sliders for pass dee. Coverage and Reaction. i tried turning cover down and moving INT up. It didnt help. With lower coverage i eliminated the DB route running, but the higher INT didnt make them react to the ball any better

                      the only way to compensate for lower coverage would be lower accuracy. But then u start missing on short dump offs and thats not fair

                      i dont think passing is broken at all. but it would be nice if they tuned the DB so when they are in man they dont run the routes

                        The thing that annoys me the most about pass coverage is sometimes the assignments are messed up. Like vs a 3 wr set I'll come out in a 3-3-5 and my MLB will be covering their 3rd WR for no reason even though I have an extra DB on the field. Then that guy will run out into the flats while my slow linebacker takes his time getting out there to cover him.

                        Or I'll come out with 3 wrs and the computer will just have a 4-3, with a safety covering a WR who's on the opposite side of the field. I scored a td earlier where right after the snap the computer's strong safety was so busy sprinting across the field trying to cover my slot WR, he didn't notice the guy run right by him.

                            i just played Miami at OSU. I turned CPU cover down from 75 to 50. I lowered Hum Acc from 30 to 25, and i lowered Hum WR Catch from 50 to 45.

                            i saw drastically different results. i was 20-40, but the CPU had 16 pass deflections. I was wild on some throws, but nothing i felt was unfair. What was weird about the lower coverage was the deflections...way excessive, and at least 10 were from DB/LB jumping to swap passes. And i had more trouble finding open WR. My slot #3 WR had 10 catches which should tell u enough right there. WR catch moving down was a non issue as i only had 2 drops

                            these passing results are worthless because i made changes that should have made it easier to find open guys, but be a bit less accurate. it was really hard to find open guys and i wasnt all that inaccurate

                            i also raised the CPU rush dee from 75 to 80 and raised cpu tackle from 45-50. It went from way too easy to way to hard. HB1 was 25 for 60. But with this at least i can move up tackle and leave rush dee alone and hope for a happy balance

                              16 pass deflections is unreal. youd be lucky to see a team deflect those amount of passes in 4 games at any level of football. Ea needs to implement a system where the ball hits the ground more just from your qb not having the accuracy or thp ratings.
