This is a summary of how this whole thing is going to work.
I'm going to create an online league and send out invites tonight. Join up with your drafted team, if you brain fart and pick the wrong team you have to quit the league and wait for another invitation.
We have 7 teams in each conference.
You play your 6 conference opponents TWICE, and the other conference guys ONCE.
You will notice that I'm going to set the games played to TEN in the league. This is because we'll play our playoff games within the league mode as well. They have a playoff option but it doesn't work very well so we'll just do it this way. This also allows for breathing room in case of a disconnected game.....as the league will record an incorrect result and it cannot be undone.
Disconnected games. If you get disconnected, play another game but only for the duration of time left in the first game that was disconnected. For example if you have a game fuck up after 2 periods with the score 2-1 for the home team. Play one more period and add up the scores together. If the game needs to go to overtime, play the next period as first goal wins, if you need to go to a shootout, skate off the time until it's a shootout. It sucks, but it's how it's gonna be.
Playoffs. Top 4 teams in each conference make the playoffs. Best of 7, 3 rounds.
Trading. This is up for debate but I suggest not bothering with it. Most often a guy will make a trade he doesn't like, then quit over it because his team is now worse than before. Also, if for whatever reason you run out of the 10 games you can play in the league, you'd not be able to use your changed roster anymore and that's kinda fucked up.
Standings. These will be posted on the site (will be up tonight) and will be the standings we go by.
Start Date. When the patch releases, which is supposed to be this week.
