Started a new playthrough last night. Gonna whoop this game on hardcore, then follow it up with an insanity playthough.

My Shepard looks hilarious, got him with short white blonde hair and a nasty black beard. Looks like a deranged war vet.

you know the answer to this. its one of the gripes you have about the game and used it to bash the 360....did you forget that?

Like how FFVII did for example.

No I didn't. That's why I asked. I knew Castlevania, Forza and Final Fantasy were. And that is a legitimate reason to "bash" the 360. Multiple discs is so 1999. At least like Jay said, with this game it's only one swap during a time that doesn't screw things up. Whereas a game like Castlevania you could be switching discs every few mintes if you want to go back to an area to get something you missed.

I guess that would be another reason to justify the price. Upgraded graphics, all of the extra content and all on one disc? I think I'm starting to warm up to the price tag.

im sure i heard this somewhere before

Mainly because 1) It fixes all the stupid atypical RPG bullshit from the first, 2) It fixes general problems from the first (I heard driving the Mako and the elevators are fucking retarded as fuck), 3) You get to skip the first and 4) It's all on one disc.

I'm not trying to completely derail this thread but I honestly have no idea how 360 guys deal with changing discs in this day and era. I had no idea until a few days ago that Castlevania was two discs. What a fucking joke. You finally earn an ability in chapter 15 that you need to access a special item in Chapter 3 and you decide you want to go back..."Please insert disc one". Is this fucking 1999?
and to further the point that you used it to bash the 360

It has nothing to do with 360 vs PS3. Well, it kind of does only because MS still chooses to use antiquated DVD technology that is limited. They try to act like they are so forward thinking yet they are still using standard DVD's with limited space and old ass disc trays on their consoles.

As cranky as you are, you can honestly say it's not bullshit that some of these 360 games are multiple discs...in 2010? I'm not just talking about ME2 where it's not as important. Look at a game like Castlevania like I mentioned. It's completely ridiculous. If you want to go back to an older area, switch discs. Go back to the later area? Switch discs.

There are tons of games that I'd be more than glad to list for you if you like. Final Fantasy is another one. What was that? 17 discs?

The bottom line this era is all about "now". MS is all about how they provide you with content instantly. XBLA. Games on Demand. Indie Games. Game Room. Etc, etc. Yet you have physical games that require multiple discs because they are too stubborn to adopt bluray?

This is honestly all new to me because I don't own any of these multidisc games and it's only recently that I've been hearing all these podcast hosts complaining about these multi-disc games.

Yeah, I honestly didn't remember that at all but thanks for pointing that out. I still stand by my opinion that changing discs is fucking dumb.

I would have to counter with being ignorant to why changing discs is required, is fucking dumb. In addition, arguing for the duration of time you have spent about something that requires a whopping 5 seconds of your life, is also quite dumb.

Not that I expect anything to sink in though.

              /sarcasm
I suppose you'd rather them just make games with less content? Or large pre-downloads before playing? Those seem like much better options IMO.

I know WHY it's required ass. My point, from the beginning of this generation, was that MS chose to use an old format, DVD. They could've used HD-DVD or paid Sony and licensed bluray but instead they went with regular DVD.

Just like they still, even with the new slim model, choose to use a disc tray that NOBODY uses anymore.

But again, I'm saying that this game being on one disc is great and would be another reason I would be swayed into playing it. And I already agreed that this game only requires one change so it's no big deal. So shove your "5 seconds of your life" up your ass. Whereas a game like Castlevania is a completely different story. Fucking unreal.

What is so funny is that I'm the one that's made to look like a bad guy here. I asked a simple question I there was honestly know malevolence behind it at all. I thought I heard ME2 on 360 was on 2 discs but wasn't sure. And I had even asked before as Maynard pointed out but it is not uncommon for me to forget shit like that. I'm sure Maynard could also find plenty of other shit I've asked or mentioned several times before, 360 or not. But then he comes in calling me a "fanboy" as usual. And then you have to add how changing discs isn't a big deal. Well couldn't you say that about anything? Just like when Maynard constantly mentions how party chat on 360 is so amazing but no one gives him shit? Well I could say "But no one really needs it anyway." The double standard around here is laughable.

Sure changing discs for some games, like this one, is no big deal, but if could eliminate it altogether wouldn't that be the ideal situation???

your arguement is invalid. changing discs is a non issue. a game like this that has as much content that it has. insert disc 1 play for 20 hours. insert disc 2 play for 20 hours. insert disc 1 play for 10 hours.

its not that big of a deal and its better than buying a disc and waiting an hours for an install, then waiting another 30 mins for the latest update to DL and install

They could have used HD DVD? No, that format DIED.

They could have contacted Sony for Blu Ray? Are you fucking serious? They are going to pander to their direct competition, to use their technology on MS consoles? Are you so blind to the idiocy here? You don't fund your competitors to this degree! You don't ADMIT INFERIORITY to your competitor! ABSURD to even think that this is a reasonable idea!

Regardless, these suggestions are what you would do to overcome a 5 second disc swap?!?! Talk about managing the situation!

But Yes, you are right, it would be ideal to be all on one disc, but you fail to comprehend how completely unfeasible that is for the situation, because it simply isn't an easy task to work around. They made their bed with console design SIX years ago.

p.s. This thread is about Mass Effect 2, thus that is what i'm speaking about. I don't know, or care, about Castlevania or what it was like. I would agree that constant disc changing would be an annoyance, but still otherwise not all that big of a deal, but again I don't know specifically what it was like with that game. I've only ever seen disc swapping in RPG's in the past, like Final Fantasy games where it's segmented into 4 discs, again, what's the big deal about changing the damn disc every 20 hours? Nothing. Probably a benefit to getting off your ass for a moment more than anything.

agreed. I had no issue swapping discs at the point in time where you had to so the game could continue. takes 5 seconds, no big deal.

Are we seriously talking about multiple discs? Twigg, you sound like more of a fanboy every day. Who the fuck cares if you have to change a disc every now and then? Are you seriously THAT lazy? Even IF the fact that most games that come with multiple discs allow 10-20 hours per disc, the fact that you're bitching about something that takes 5 seconds is seriously retarded.
