[360] Thinking of getting the new 360

So i should be getting some money soon, not sure exactly how much, but if i get a thousand or so, i would like to upgrade my gaming library.

1st option: Keep the PS3, but upgrade it to the new 120 GB system. (I have the 40 GB) Then buy some new games. But wouldnt get to connect to more people.

2nd Option: Keep the PS3, but get the new 250 GB system, atleast 1 yr membership as well as a couple games.

My reasoning to upgrade my PS3 is that it is the cheaper route, plus i've never had problems with it.

My reasoning to go 360 are because it seems like more people use it, got family i cant play games like Madden with unless i come over. Never hurts to have a second system.

To be honest, i'm think of going the 360 route, $60 or so for a year online is a small price to pay to play with more friends. Plus i wanna try some games only on 360 like Left 4 Dead, and Halo.

I do have some questions about the new 360 though

On my PS3, i have lots of movies, can i put movies on the 360 through the USB ports?

360 has the removable hard drive, but can i use it for my laptop to store other stuff?

i've always been cautious to buy a 360 bc of the RROD, what kind of problems are showing up on the new 360?

thats all, i appreciate all answers

My friend asked me a question similar to this one.

He wanted to trade in is 360 for the new one, or buy a PS3.

I told him buy the PS3, NEVER buy the first product. Bugs are the huge issue, and knowing mircosoft, the new 360 prolly is bugged out.

I've heard that the new system overheats and dies quickly. Don't purchase the first system, wait it out till they fix all the problems.

The second one seems like the better route. You still keep your PS3 and add the 360 as well.

Where'd you get $60 from? lol the normal price is $50 for a year. But, there are offers EVERYWHERE for about $30. These things are cheap now, the most you'll pay is $40/year. I got my last 12month card for $27 online from amazon or buy or one of those sites.

            To answer your questions,
yes, I believe you can watch movies from your usb.

I don't believe you can use it for your computer as well, but I could be wrong.

There are quite a lot of problems arising with the new 360. Since they edited something with the air vents, it heats up quickly which causes the 360 to overheat and eventually breakdown. I've heard the new one breaks down much faster than the original console.

My advice would be to wait a little for another batch/upgrade/version.

              Personally, I'd get the 360.
Having both consoles is very nice ... and leaves you with options.
And it's easy enough to just replace a hard drive in the PS3.

thanks everyone, i'm strongly leaning towards the 360, like Raptor said, i get the keep my PS3 while getting a new console

already looking at some games and stuff, $300 console, like 3 games, and a 1 yr gold membership comes up to like $515, not bad considering when i got my PS3, it was $400 for just the console

as for the price of the Gold membership, a friend told me it was $60, i looked on gamestop and they have it for $50...looking on walmart, $40, bestbuy, $50

i'll look around some more, find some better deals

                appreciate all the comments

I've had the new 360 from like the day it came out and have had no issues at all. I bought the ps3 too a while back for MLB the Show but haven't played it since, i just like the layout of the 360 better. I am actually selling my ps3 on ebay right now.

360 all the way my old xbox hasnt overheated in 1 and a half years but i have my fingers crossed i wont have to replace it. 360 is much better if you have a ton of friends due to the party system

Exactly. It's the best of both worlds. You'll be able to play all of the great exclusives on both consoles.
