NHL 11 is arguable the best sports game the past 3 years. Although FIFA fans might have a case now that it's become pretty fuckin good itself.
Regardless, both are leagues ahead of games like Madden.
Might be tough to get into the game without knowing the rules tho lol. Gotta learn somehow tho right?Comment

Mght as well wait the week for NHL11. If you want to learn the rules though, honestly any game will do. Could probably find NHL09 for like under ten bucks. NHL10 for under 20.All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

anything newer than 08 is your best bet, that was the first year with the new controls. might as well learn them. 09 was strides better than 08 was.

NHL 09 was the best hockey game I had played since the one with Joe Sakic on the cover, NHL 2004 I think.
I didn't play NHL 10, but it was a decent improvement on NHL 09.
But from what I hear NHL 11 is going to be insane, so I am pretty excited. I would not even touch the 2k series with a 10 foot pole. The graphics are always subpar and the gameplay is so underwhelming.

It's laughable, yet also a shame....how God awful terrible the Madden franchise has become. Madden use to be a staple of the fall season, watching NFL games, etc. Now, for the past 3 seasons I simply cannot play that game.
NHL and FIFA on the other hand, the last 3 years have been leaps and bounds forward. I think Madden developers need to go take notes on how the other two EA developers make/improve a game.Comment
