Buzzman’s Most Anticipated Games of Q4 (Oct-Nov-Dec)
#9 | The Sly Collection (PS3 - October 1st)
If you missed the games on the PS2, you get to experience them now with improved graphics and trophies. Not to mention you get three games for the small price of $40. The Sly series was just as good as Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Dexter, it just didn’t get the same amount pf applaud.
#8 | Comic Jumper (XBLA – October 6th)
The guys from Splosion Man are genius and they have set the bar for expectations high with this. The trailers look funny and full of fun, and looks like it could instantly hop into the top 5 of best XBLA games made, which is no easy feat considering how much quality product as been released as of late.
#7 | Medal of Honor (Mulit – October 12th)
The multiplayer is being made by the guys from DICE, so you know it should be extremely solid with dozen so of improvements over the Battlefield online. The big picture is the single player seems to be a high priority and I’m excited to play it and see if this reboot lives up to the hype and provides Call of Duty with some actual competition.
#6 | Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition (Multi – October 12th)
The game plus the add -ns should be something everyone is waiting for if they passed on the game upon first release. It provides countless hours of the best co-op available.
#5 | Fallout: New Vegas (Multi – October 19th)
I haven’t played Fallout 3 yet, but I can tell you it diverged from its predecessors by a huge margin. This sequel takes that same Fallout 3 formula but pays homage to those first 2 games numerous times and takes no the far more exciting settings of the Las Vegas strip.
#4 | LittleBigPlanet 2 (PS3 – November 16th)
If you’ve seen what people have created in the first one, then you can’t possibly imagine what they will do with this sequel. They have added hundreds of different things to the game and now you can make any game type of any genre. Some of the beta levels already made are masterpieces and I can’t wait to get my hands on them.
#3 | Call of Duty: Black Ops (Mulit – November 9th)
What more needs to be said about Black Ops. You’ve seen everything they added to the multiplayer. You can easily make the case for it being #1 on every list, but a questionable single player still looms over.
#2 | Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (Multi – October 5th)
Ninja Theory is a fantastic developer. They worked on Heavenly Sword and Metroid Other M. There is no question they are a strong company and everything we’ve seen with the game doesn’t prove otherwise. This post apocalyptic 2 player adventure looks like a shit ton of fun. It should be a game of the year candidate with every site.
#1 | Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (Multi – October 5th)
You can’t honestly watch the trailer and not become excited. It shows heavy mixes of God of War and Shadow of the Colossus, yet has the ever popular characters of the franchise. The creators previous work attempts were with Metal Gear Solid 4 and from the amount of cut scenes and story, you can tell. The looming showdown with Dracula can’t come soon enough.
