never played socom, COD is very twitch based gameplay; at least it is online

Gears, its slower and heavier, cover based, with weapons that are oh so powerful if you learn their quirks. Chainsawing or shotgun blasting another guy to pieces is very satisfying. Its a very different feel than COD, but much more fun IMO.

Was never a fan of this franchise bought the 1st game purely on hype, but the support that company shows its fans is something i'm jealous of.

Would anyone who is pre-ordering from Best Buy like to trade me Mechanic Baird for Commando Dom when the game releases? I'd pre-order from Best Buy but there isn't one close enough that is having a midnight release.

I'd really appreciate it, Baird has been my favorite sarcastic asshole since GoW 1.

i loved the SP mode of the first game. didnt care for online at all. didnt bother with the 2nd cause it wasthe same as the first....GOW3 will also be a copy cat of the last 2....no way i would buy this

I'm willing to give it another chance. I bought it for the Xbox primarily.....I need one of the new ones as I've noticed that my MW2 one might be ready to kick the bucket.

However, if I didn't buy the Xbox, I would wait for awhile or just rent the game to finish the story, but if I am spending a lot on the system I'll give the online more of a try than I would otherwise.

I do want to add that the Horde mode was a great addition, and I am glad that other games such as Halo have added similar modes.
