Aren't most major titles all about the online gaming? Madden, CoD, Halo, etc.

Bioshock and Fallout are very popular offline offline titles, but the only difference between playing them on 360 and PS3 is the fact that 360 gets earlier DLC than PS3.

To us but apparently the online gaming community only makes up a small percentage of the market.

It looks like I'm probably going to keep both systems since selling my Playstation Move stuff payed for about half of my complete Xbox purchase. I'll probably shift to the Xbox completely as games release and use the Playstation for Blurays, its better Netflix app, and the couple of PS3 exclusives I can't live without.

          I think it's worth it?

How could owning both not be worth it?

Yep, it isn't costing you anything to keep both and the second you sell your PS3 (and the chances are you'll only get a fraction for what you've paid for it) you just know a bunch of new and exciting exclusive titles will suddenly be annouced.

I know there was a story posted on Kotaku not long ago showing how Madden online players seriously dwindle whenever there is an actual NFL game on tv. The remarkable thing they pointed out was how close the actual online player numbers were on PS3 and 360.

At least with Madden the online players are nearly identical. I know it's not the game for CoD although Black Ops will probably bring the numbers a lot closer than they were with MW2. And of course Halo is an exclusive so that's a moot point.

                Edit: Found the article.
An interesting little graphic EA Sports sent us today illustrates what most would expect: An actual NFL game crashes Madden NFL's participation numbers. But it still holds on to about 34,000 hardcore users from kickoff to final gun.

I have had an Xbox 360 since launch (actually have had FOUR since they kept breaking on me). Got the PS3 the following spring simply to play The Show. I guess I am lucky enough to have both. Son now plays 360 when he is home from his room (mostly the "kill'em" type of games). I have my sport games (The Show, NCAA, Hot Shots, PS Move) in my basement. I couldn't tell you the last time I played a game on the 360. I can't say I've missed it. But I can say I have missed some of the guys I used to play against.

I sure as hell don't miss worrying about if the damn machine was gonna quit on me!!

The graphs don't even show anywhere near identical numbers. There's a good 10,000 more people on xbox then ps3 at peak times.

I'd love to know what the numbers are like for fifa and other bigger games.

Considering the install bases, 10K isn't jack. Last year there were probably twice as many 360 Madden players than PS3.

Thats because most of us arn't retarded enough to buy a shit game two years in a row.

Saying 10k isn't jack shit when that is around a 25% difference is a little bit of a stretch.

On the flip side I remember reading that there were around 20million gold subscribers compared to PSN's 40million accounts total so there should be more users online per game but I just don't see where they all are.

the 40 million PSN subscribers is skewed ebcause you can make as many as you want so you know theres like 10,000 people with 10 accounts.

Okay. To clarify I just want everyone to know that I will keep both systems. I will probably be getting Reach and I don't plan on getting the Kinect.

                              Is that okay with everyone?
