My post had nothing to do with PS3/360 debate, but the fact that my understanding is that the first Crysis you needed a top of the line pc gaming rig to run it at full settings, and I'm sure the 2nd one will be the same.

Hence why I think it is funny that it is being ported to consoles when it looks so gorgeous on a PC.

Furthermore, it was also my understanding that the first Crysis wasn't even that great of a game, it just looked badass.

However continue assuming that I am just here to troll because I'm "jealous" because I don't own a 360

    I don't own a 360 by choice.

I would have replied " consoles", but I did not know this was a multiplatform game, I haven't paid attention to it at all.

the braggin wasn't pointed at oyu, just a general statemnt. What was my fail? I for one will never ever play "new" pc games. I don't have the CPU to handle it and I prefer the consoles in general. If I never play the CPU version, I cant be missing out on anything by playing on consoles because I wont know what im missing out on in the first place.

My fail troll has been exposed? God you are dumb, maybe you should know a little more about the game yourself to understand what my intentions were originally. Boucher was the only one that got it.

I'm just going to buy the PC version out of spite now

im dumb? at least i knew the game was on both consoles and didnt derail a discussion by trying to flame the 360 for a game we all know superior on the pc. It was a fail troll because your fanboy effort got shredded and now your back tracking to make it look like you knew it was on both consoles, when its clear what you were really trying to do

regardless, thanks for ruining the discussion before it even got started

I tried playing the other morning and apparently couldn't find a game. It just kept saying "searching for games" and then "joining game" over and over.

Then I just tried a bit ago and got into a game without any problem. Four kills away from my team winning my 360 freezes. Awesome. I'm hoping it was the beta and not my sixth 360 about to die.

What I played seemed pretty cool though.

Played the demo. Took a solid 5 minutes to get into a match, and then after playing the match I thought it sucked. The demo is now deleted from my hard drive and I will try to forget that this game ever even existed.

And it appears that leaf will not be taking part in the new crysis.

Report: Crysis 2 To Ship Without DX11 Support, Coming In Post-Launch Patch - eXophase.com

We’ve received word from Swedish hardware site Sweclockers that Crysis 2 will ship without DX11 support, much like its recently released demo counterpart. The tidbit was unearthed at a recent Nvidia presentation. Apparently, Crytek plans to patch in the renderer as part of a post-launch update.
While specific DX11 features due for inclusion went unmentioned, at the bare minimum, it’s expected that we’ll see tessellation and advanced depth of field effects a la Metro 2033.
Until then, PC gamers rocking the latest and greatest hardware will have to make do with DX9. There’s no word on a release timeline for the patch, but here’s hoping that Crytek themselves break the silence soon.
It also appears the game is a direct console port to PC. I kinda laugh because they whined about it being pirated now well its just going to get pirated about 100X more now.

                    Leafs offseason training!

I wouldn't say loyal the first one was pirated a bitch load. I actually bought it the day it came out unlike most and enjoyed what the series had to offer.

Quick notes from what I can gather though.

                        - DX9 fully enforced (no DX10 even)
                        - Cannot change visual settings in Demo. Although this could be to save on file size.
                        - Everything from where the first screen tells PC users to "Press Start" to start the game to auto aim being on shows pure laziness.

Will be interesting to see what happends. I'm admittly a huge Crysis, far cry fan boy and this does bother me to the point I may skip it totally and wait for a steam christmas sale.

                              Ouch.

Crysis 2: The Rock, the Hard Place, and the PS3

The performance of the PS3 version is pretty underwhelming. The framerate is frequently low and choppy. There are jagged lines everywhere, and shadows are especially messy. There's a muddiness to the graphics that's hard to stomach in the wake of the PS3's other flagship showpieces, and worse, the variable framerate really hurts controller response.

Our videos don't present this well because of the realities of HD video capture, but more than one IGN editor confirmed similar thoughts to me after seeing Crysis 2 running on the PS3. That isn't to say it's all bad. Crysis 2's global illumination system still provides some breathtaking lighting effects, from god rays filtering around standing objects to some great transitions from indoors to outside as your eyes adjust to the change. The sound is still excellent, with great gunfire and ubiquitous audio cues that you'll need to pay attention to if you want to keep an edge online.

Crysis 2 isn't finished yet. This build could be a few weeks to a few months old, and optimization is often rapid and pronounced toward the end of a game's development period. That said, my time with the PS3 version was sandwiched between the multiplayer demo on PC which, despite its own issues, understandably smokes its console cousins, and a re-released multiplayer demo on the Xbox 360, which I spent some more time with last night. My previous complaints about that version's iffy controller response have been mostly addressed, and visually, it's clearly outperforming the PS3 version. Everything is clearer and sharper, and the framerate is solid. Most importantly, it just feels better than its PS3 counterpart from a play perspective.
