[ALL] Anyone still play wrestling games?

I picked up Fable 3 today as a part of the buy 2 get one free deal at Best Buy (trying to get my Xbox library going). I wanted to wait for reviews before I opened it just in case I wanted to take it back and exchange it. Well reviews don't sound that great and I'm not much of an RPG player, so I don't see myself getting into this game.

Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 just came out and is an eligible game for this offer so I could exchange it for that. I used to LOVE wrestling games, but haven't played any at all since PS2 games. So I guess my question is - are they pretty fun still? Does anyone play them on PS3 or Xbox?

I rented it and I have already played it more than last year editions but not sure I would use it as a free game unless nothing else stood out. IGN has a review for the game (they gave it a 8.0).

I always used to love creating my own guys. There any cool virtual efed leagues for smackdown?

Yeah that's the problem - nothing else stands out. The only other thing I could see myself doing is just returning it and waiting a couple weeks for Black Ops..

A wrestling league would be funny as you have so many options, but you need the right people. I use to have the 2010 version, and I created my guys and played online a lot. The Road to Wrestlemania thing got boring to me fast, and I just had no want to do my own career shit.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

          "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Im slightly torn on this. I may rent it. WWE Universe is what seems the most appealing to me if its done well.

Its either this or EA MMA. Ive been going back and forth over the two for a week or so now.

Same here, then I played more.

In all honesty though, I don't care for or watch wrestling anymore (havent in years) but the games are still a good time.

It's a good game (IMO) if you have a sibling to play with all the time. I didn't try online, so I have no idea how stable it is when playing. I think they are going to release some past wrestlers but don't quote me on that. Still not a $60 game for me.

Sadly I've been getting the SmackDown! series since Just Bring It. Haven't had the chance to pick up SvR11 yet due to saving money up for this upcoming weekend. With that said, I'll end up picking it up with FIFA11 as well sometime this month. And "league's" for wrestling games are awesome if you have the right people like Ravin said. You can do your "role plays" with your little promo's and what not, just all depends on how much you want to put into it.

I decided to pick this up today since it is part of Targets buy 2 get 1 free program and outside of GoldenEye, there wasn't much else I was interested in.

Only thing good about SvR 2011 is the ability to download CAWs and assign them entrance music, then replace the current talentless idiots that wrestle today.

I have all smackdown games for the ps1 and ps2. But i stopped playing after SVR07. I think that was the worst game ever. But i still love Creating superstars and whopping John cenas ass.

I dont anymore. Last WWF/E game i got was 07 last one before that was 2002. I got the TNA game but that didnt hold my attention much either. The games just dont portray the drama and the emotion of the TV product enough for me to play them.

These used to be my favorite games back in the N64 days. WCW/NWO Revenge was probably the game I played the most ever.
