As far as Dishonored, I didn't realize that Swarley missed that either, but oh well, it doesn't matter. That games story is silly and a sidestory at best. Still, fun if you like the genre, and the skills are fucking awesome.
Just make sure you play it with someone. Playing with Dizzle I'm having a blast, but i could see how playing with the CPU would make the game a 4 or 5/10 like many outlets gave it. Playing with a competent human partner improves things immensely. The shooting is very good and the melee moves are awesome and something seemingly derived from the WWE. The story is of course non-sensical and typical RE but the boss battles are pretty crazy, in a good way, also typical RE. Nothing like fighting a mutated boss on top of a train, or fighting a fucking mutated giant zombie shark. LOL.

As for Swarley and Dishonored, you wouldn't have known because you don't listen to the podcast. Righ after the game released and he got it I asked him about the ties to whales and whale oil and how significant it was a part of the story and he was baffled. I had read about it in serveral previews but he had no idea wtf I was talking about. At the time he said that he had only played for a few hours though. But after playing for only an hour I have no idea how he didn't see all the references. there are signs everwhere referring to whale oil and when you first escape the prison and sewers and meet that guy there is a giant ship in the background with a humongous whale on hooks. LOL. Fucking Swarley, Mr. Observation.

I started up Forza Horizon earlier today. It seems like a really cool game, "borrowing" heavily from MotorStorm with the whole festival thing and Burnout Paradise with smashing billboards and the open world stuff. The game did remind me of how I much prefer arcade racers like those other game though. The simple handling of the cars isn't as fun to me as the arcadey handling in other games.

After playing Forza for over a week straight I'm officially hooked. It's so good. I also started Saints Row 3 co-op with Dizzle. I've done everything there is to do in that game on the 360 version. Now it's time to do it all again on PS3.

Your thoughts on Dead Space franchise? You getting 3 when it comes out/eventually?

Going HAM with the Penetrator while burning down the Powder Room was awesomesauce.

Ok, so I think I may have mentioned this in another thread but I started Killzone HD the other day. It doesn't look anywhere near as good as Halo Anniversary but it also is only $15 and not $40 for one fucking HD remake. The best when I can describe it is that it looks like I remember it originally looking back when I initially played it on PS2. The rose colored glasses theory. The controls are not as updated as modern shooters but the aren't as antiquated as Halo Anniversary either. You can also customize EVERY button on the controller which is fucking awesome. Killing Helghast is still fun as hell and it's really cool playing through levels that I vividly remember from so many years ago. Having a ton of trophies to unlock doesn't hurt either.

The one glaring issue is the audio. I had heard outcries that the game doesn't have surround sound at all. It seems to have it to me but it is very muted and discreet. It's like they left the audio compressed or something.

Overall if you're a fan of the series I would definitely recommend it.

So, I noticed that both Silent Hill: Homecoming and Downpour could be had on the cheap. I've never played a Silent Hill game before so and both have decent reviews. I started up Homecoming yesterday and overall it's a fun game. It seems very similar to RE games. But I have one major issue. You can't invert the controls. There is an option in the menus but it doesn't do anything. I did some research and found out it was some oversight by Konami and they have never, and I'm sure will never (considering the game released in 2008), fix or patch the issue. Luckily the game doesn't seem to be too combat heavy and I'm mostly just moving the camera to the left and right. But honestly, how can a game company in this day and age neglect to implement such an option?

While I wasn't very good at writing a review at the time, I did review Homecoming where I found myself enjoying a pretty mediocre game. I have yet to get Downpour on the cheap though. I keep missing the $10 sales for it.

I figured that since Homecoming came out in 2008 it would probably be (or at least look) better on 360 so I went with that version. I just went with 360 for Downpour because it was cheaper.

                                Weird considering I'm such a PS3 fanboi.
