[ALL] 3D Gaming on new Samsung TV.

OK real quick I want to give you guys a little review of some games I played yesterday in 3D.

    Samsung UN55C7000

    Gran Turismo 5
I would say this game really isn't in 3D. The only thing that stood out was the on screen over lay. The gauges and such appears to be in front of everything. There was some depth. Watch the replay in 3D....nothing.

    NCAA Football 2011
This TV allows you to convert anything to 3D. I tried it with a regular game and not much doing.

    Call of Duty: BO
This game has a stereoscopic view where you can split the screen in 2, turn the 3D mode on your TV to match and put on the glasses. Well let me say this was pretty cool. You definitely see the gun is layered and in front of everything else. The reticule also sticks out. I was at the part where you launch the guided missile into the Soviet rocket.....holy shit that was pretty cool. I probably would not play with it online but campaign I am going to play the whole thing in 3D.

Next I am going to try MLB the Show and Motorstorm (heard this one is good)

I did watch Shrek in 3d for a while and it was very cool. The way I can explain it is you feel like you can reach into the TV. Nothing really pops out but there is quite a sense of depth.

3D is a neat little feature. I would NOT buy a new TV just for 3D but if your in the market for a new TV I would spend the extra 100-200 and get it.

Sidenote: put in the Dark Knight on this TV.......holy shitballs is that amazing:eek: Really looks incredible.

Purchased the 55 inch TV for $1799 with no tax and no shipping cost from www.Paulstv.com. Came with 4 Shrek movies, 2 glasses and a Samsung BD players. My freaking Dad paid $1599 b/c he ordered the 46 and they were out of stock and they offered an upgrade for 299 more.....incredible.

I was leery of ordering from this place but everything went very smooth.

BTW I don't see the big deal about wearing the glasses. I mean it is 10 pm at night and I am by myself or with my fiancee wearing them...who really gives a fuck. They are easy to wear and very light.

Appreciate the review though I have no intention of going 3D until its glasses-less which sounds a couple years off. I have heard football in 3D is pretty bad ass though.

I just don't want to wear the glasses. And I don't want to drop a small fortune on more retarded glasses for when people come over. Ridiculous how much they cost.

To summarize...Love the idea of 3D, hate the idea of glasses

yeah I have been researching how long before you don't need glasses. They are predicting 7-10 years away. They say we are stuck with the glasses for a while. Which sucks. My fear is some break through tech comes out and 2 years from now 3D tvs are out without glasses and affordable. Then my 3D feature is a waste.

I am not buying more glasses...fuck that. The only people that are going to enjoy 3D are my girl and I. Bring your own glasses!:datass:

Hopefully I will have more time this weekend to fart around with it and check some more shit out.

One thing is insane is the 39.99 price tag for 3D moveis.....wtf? Sure Shrek is great and all but I want same real movies in 3D. Give me Batman or Saving Private Ryan in 3D!

DJ....when you are serious about buying, hit me up. I spent WAY too much time researching this shit (i started looking in August with the expectation I would buy Black Friday week). When I finally placed the order I was relieved. I mean fucking Samsung has like 20 different models of LCD, LED, and Plasma....drove me insane. Came down to size, brand and then price. When I saw the price was about $500 cheaper then Best Buy.....I jumped on it.

It's funny that at age 19 I feel like an old fart who doesn't want to even bother learning or using the latest technology. I have absolutely ZERO interest in 3D and I know i'm not alone with this. If anything, I'm glad they are pushing out these 3DTVs because that makes the 1080p HDTV's much cheaper.

I guess it could be a little distracting....kind of hard to explain. Not sure what kind of lag there would be also. For online twitch games like that I would put it on game mode to reduce input lag. Not sure you can ply in 3D in that mode.
