Probably been asked. But is this a game you could jump into now and understand whats going on ? I dont feel like going back to 1-2. The commercials for 3 look great.

I personally wouldn't recommend it, because there is so much more to get out of it with the history of the first 2, but yes, they designed the game to be open to newcomers. And, well, it's a great third person shooter too, so I'm sure you would like that aspect KOF.Comment

You wouldn't recognize any of the ME1 & ME2 characters, which has been the biggest part of the game for me thus far.Comment

i agree with all of this, KOF....but if you really dont want to play the 1st 2, then dont let that stop u from playing this one. I was worried about this game not living up to expectations especially after dragon age 2....but bioware really did a great job. Few games live up to the hype but this game does. It had alot to live up to since ME2 was just so fantasticComment

While you can play ME3 right off the bat, I wouldn't.
The experience is 1000000x greater if you know the story, experienced all the ups and downs that got Shepard to where he/she is.
I mean the opening sequence where Shep runs into Kaidan/Ashley...would mean nothing to you. But it's a cool moment for those who've played from the beginning. A simple example of how these moments are ultimately going to be lost on you because you don't know the story, the relationships and experiences that you not only go through as a player, but have to make impacting decisions. When characters are referenced as you play ME3, you'll be like...k whatever I don't care, where as a full playthrough player would be remembering why that character is dead, possibly because of their own choice, or why that character hates you/loves you, again, because of what you chose to do.
Why not play ME1 or ME2? Both could be acquired for real cheap I'm sure, both still hold up today as excellent games. Most guys in this thread have played them both just within the past few weeks...and it's damn fun everytime. So it's not as if you're playing some "old inferior/outdated game", because they aren't like that at all.Comment

not that it matters for me so far, that biotic cerberus broad fucked kaiden up and I gave not a single fuck about it. Just waiting for the email to say he died in the hospital bed, cause I'm not going to visit.Comment

See when I played a FemShep I led him to believe that we had something special but then left him on Virmire.Comment

Spoiler from the first few hours of the game, so don't read if you haven't finished Mars yet:
At first I didn't like the EDI story idea. I still think it's kind of silly, but she's such a great character with so many great lines, I'm getting over it. It is still a little weird to me that her and Joker went from what I considered a mother/son relationship to a boyfriend/girlfriend one (presumably). What are other people's thoughts?Comment

She wanted to research some information on human relationships and I told her that I didn't think it would be a good idea. She got a little pissy, but its whatever. Joker is taking her to the club the next time we go to the Citadel though. He wanted me to tag along so that it wouldn't be awkward lol. I am enjoying the dynamic between the two. Don't think it will develop into anything major though.

Anyone here played the DLC? Just did it. I understand the nature of DLC, but if Bioware truly had committed other resources to this after initial production, they still should have waited. It's not necessarily essential to the story, but HOLY SHIT some crazy stuff is offered. I guess in Bioware's mindset of "anyone can play this game regardless of if you've played the others!" it's okay, but as a game that seems more based on fan service a lot of times...it again screams of EA.Comment
