I know a lot of people have questions about which cables to buy and I saw this article posted on Twitter. It should clear up a lot of misconceptions.

I'm working at a radio shack now days and its absurd what an hdmi cable runs retail. Even though I work on commission I still would rather tell people where they can get one online then sell them 6 ft for 60 bucks. The monster cables do have a place in the market either way because I still get countless idiots who want it no matter how much you try to convince them otherwise.

I buy my HDMI cables at the dollar store. No way ill ever spend as much money as a video game or a Dvd player on a freaking cable.

I got my HDMI cord at 5 Below. Its a store where everything is 5 dollars or cheaper. I never had a damn problem with it.

Best Buy is the WORST at trying to sell these and other things to people that aren't necessary. I mean look at the markup.. 9 PS3's to one HDMI cable. That is crazy.

I had a shit load in a cart for Amazon, I threw in 2 HDMIs for 3 bucks each, called it a day and havent had a problem.

Yeah I got a "Belkin" 8 foot HDMI off Amazon for $8 and it's been fine. I write "Belkin" because IDK if it's a legit Belkin or not. My roommate ordered two 3 foot HDMI's off ebay for 4 bucks one day and gave me one. The picture with both is exactly the same. Best Buy is robbing people I tells ya!!

I get a laugh every time I walk through Best Buy and see those $$ priced Monster cables. I've never paid more than $10 shipped for a high quality HDMI cable (monoprice.com).

I got 2 cables for 10 bucks off Craigslist. No problems what so ever.

My dad just bought my sis a bluray player and his sis in Mexico a LCD tv, he thought he would have to get $$$ hdmi cables. I told him he could get pretty cheap ones on Amazon....I got him two for $20, since they were sold from Amazon and not 3rd party online stores. I let him use my acct, so he could get free 2 day shipping.

Guilty of buying the $50 Xbox 360 HDMI cable a couple years back. I found out shortly after that I could get the same thing for $10 or less and I've been disappointed in myself about it ever since.
