      What happened?

FYI, I was listening to the latest Bombcast and Shoemaker talked a lot about this game. I could've sworn there was a horde type mode included in the multiplayer but apparently not because be was talking about how he would've loved one included. Ghey also talked about the already announced DLC and how one of the developers explained on NeoGaf that the game was already well beyond the "locked out" phase, where it just goes to testers to sort out any QA issues, before they started work on it.

He also talked about how the 360 version does include a disc swap during the campaig. It's not just a separatio of campaign and multiplayer. They were going back and forth about the wholedisc swapping issue and how they can't believe companies can't figure a way around it, especially with install options these days. Then Gerstmann chimed in with "There is a a solution. Buy a ps3." LOL. Then Shoemaker said that if you have the option the ps3 version is a no brainer, which is what I've been saying. He said "It looks identical, you get Extraction included and no disc swap." Sounds eerily familiar.

He did say that the game is amazing and gave it 5 stars.

The wife and I just hit chapter 7 in Extraction, which is really good. We should hopefully be wrapping that up tomorrow.

I too was expecting a Hoard type mode which would have been fun as fuck, instead we get a boring competitive multiplayer. When will developers learn that the aliens never work out?

Anyway I was on chapter 9 and cruising right along. Probably would have beat it yesterday and reviewed it today but shit happens. I'm hoping the reformat works because then I'll sell it and buy the slim, if it doesn't work, I'm buying the slim and giving my broken one away for free.

Beat my first playthrough on Survivalist difficulty and clocked in at about 13 hours. The last two chapters are pretty intense in terms of how many necro you'll have to battle your way through. I can't imagine how crazy this is going to be on Zealot and Hardcore difficulty.

Ammo conservation was a concern through most of the game, but it really becomes a factor down the stretch with the sheer amount of baddies you'll need to slay. Part of the reason ammo feels so scarce is that Stores seem few and far between for most of the game, so you don't have the ability to just stop (or even backtrack in some cases) and buy ammo. Bottom line: get used to dismembering blades and using kinesis to impale enemies.

Similar to Dead Space, the atmosphere is what really makes the game. The lighting is good, but the audio is great. Constant whispering and noises in the background keep you on your toes wondering what (if anything) is about to ambush you. A real treat if you have any form of surround sound.

          Haven't touched multiplayer at all.

          Some tips:

-If you have DS: Ignition, it might be worth it to beat it going through all four possible paths. There are enhanced weapons schematics available in certain rooms throughout the game that are available in addition to the Hacker suit.
-Always carry a power node to open supply rooms. ALWAYS.
-You may want to consider holding off on purchasing every suit on your first playthrough. I opted to use the Hacker suit from when it was first available to the time I got the Advanced suit, and used the credits that I saved on ammo and power nodes.

Can anyone confirm how the Ignition unlocks work? I'm reading conflicting stories on the interwebs.

Do you need to play through the game once to unlock all of the rooms? Play through all four endings? Just get to the first auto-save?

There are four or five Conduit rooms throughout the game that are unlocked, and each corresponds to the location of a hack in Ignition. Each contains an audio recording and supplies. There are also a couple that contain Hacker schematics.

If you've played through Ignition once, you're guaranteed the Hacker Suit. However, I'm not entirely sure if there are any additional requirements to get the Hacker Contact Beam or to open all Conduit rooms.

To be safe, you might want to do at least two playthroughs of Ignition where you complete all four room choices.

I did do two, and it was grueling as hell.

I started this game today and hot damn is it good. Do you happen to remember how spread out the conduit rooms are? I'm on Chapter 3 and I've found two of them. But the weird thing was that in the second one Delile said "Audio log #3" when the audio log started. I can't imagine I missed a room because I've been searching all over and the game is linear as is.

                        You mean Extraction? LOL.

Yeah, I wish I had the Move when I played through it but no way I'm buying it just for that game.

IIRC, the Conduit rooms are located in Chapters 1, 2, 4, and 9. I think the Audio Logs count down to one also.

Locations in spoiler tags (just in case):

First one is in the hospital.
Second is in the corridors after you leave the hospital.
Third is in the Church of Unitology.
Fourth is in the CEC facility.

Yeah, that seems to be the consensus. I actually found links to videos on YouTube and the text described them in those chapters. I didn't watch the videos though for obvious reasons.

I'm getting so fed up with Ignition. Yes, I'm a trophy whore so I wanted to clean up the rest of the trophies. Plus I wanted to see the different decisions in the narrative. I played through every option possible: Top->Top, Bottom->Bottom, Top->Bottom and Bottom->Top.

I'm still missing several of the puzzle related trophies and I can't figure out why?

As is my luck normally, as soon as I posted I got the trophies. I played through again using the Bottom->Bottom path and got the rest. I guess when I chose that path when I played through the Leaderboard option it didn't count for some reason?
