Just kicked this games ass. What a fucking awesome game. I won't spoil anything but I loved where the game goes around chapter 10 or so.

I'm going to try a New Game+ to clean up some trophies I missed. Plus I might pop back in DS1 and start a New Game+ to get at least two trophies that are basically impossible in one play through. Hacking off X amount of Necromorph limbs and upgrading all your weapons to max.

Oh yeah, and what garbage media outlet said this game is 6-8 hours? It took me just over 13 on Normal.

The return to the Ishimura might be some of the best atmosphere and tension in the game. A lot of nostalgia from the first Dead Space along with the eerie quiet that went along with part of your journey through the bowels of the ship. As you were walking through, you just knew it was too quiet. The buildup to the ambush was fantastic.

Exactly. I thought it was plenty long. For Destructoid to say it was an 8 hour game is fucking ridiculous. They need to take their head out of their asses.

thats why i think people who rely on reviews to tell them how long a game is are stupid. everyone plays at a different pace. sure it may give you a ballpark estimate but its usually nowhere near exact to how long you might play it. ive played well over whatever time reviewers said a game should be finished with plenty of times.

Well I just finished mopping up the trophies that I wanted for Dead Space 2. I have all the trophies except for Completing the game on Zealot, Completing the game on Hard Core and of course the Platinum for getting all the trophies.

I have a feeling I will run through at least one more time and hopefully at least get Zealot just before DS3 releases. But that's a long time away.

I started a hardcore run a couple of weeks ago. I figure the best way to do finish is to do one 5-6 hour leg every week or two. I can easily myself getting burned out after going a 4 hour stretch only to mess up and lose that progress and jumping right back on to make up that time. I'm just hoping that when I finish my playthrough, it'll take care of the zealot trophy as well.

Isn't it basically the same difficulty as Zealot with the difference being that you can only save three times?

No checkpoints. If you die, you start from your last save.

LOL. The Hand Cannon you get at the end is worth the effort IMO.
