It is interesting how two outlets can have complete opposite opinions on a part of a game. Yes, an opinion is an opinion. But to have such drastic differences between GI and Games Radrr for instance, is interesting to say the least. GR applauds R3's campaign while GI slams it.

Really? Because now that I'm actually doing my research it looks like reviewers writing off the story are in the extreme minority

      Games Radar- 90
      , "polished, impeccable campaign"
      Gamepro- 90, "intensely memorable encounters"
PS Lifestlye- 90, "the single player can stand next to the likes of Uncharted 2"
Joystiq- 90, "isn't just a great game full of marked, inspired improvement"
IGN- 90, "this time the action is more focused and tightly structured."
Gametrailers- 88, "the variety and pacing of the campaign makes it the best in the series so far."

Hmm, so who's in the minority? And who is this "everyone else" that you speak of?

I was using my phone so I couldn't link a bunch of reviews but I was gonna say that most reviews I saw were positive and the only bad review I saw was the one mentioned in here.

            Who? All of those outlets?

And that still doesn't answer my question. You said a bunch of outlets were shitting on the story but I've only seen one, GI. Where are all the others?

If you match up the good reviews to the bad reviews guess who is still in the minority.

Really? What reviews did you read?

1UP- "The gameplay pacing is often superb; you easily move from tense shooter firefights, to zombie-movie-esque "you versus Grim" scenarios, to epic boss battles."

Giant Bomb- "Resistance's premise remains terrific, imagining an Earth around would-be World War II where Hitler never became society's greatest threat. Instead, an alien race is insidiously subverting humanity and turning them against one another by physically transforming humans into adopted Chimera. It's gross, laughable, and awesome."
"It feels like a side story, but a really good one..."

Edge- They apparently don't keep their site updated so who knows?

GI- We know they they were one of the few that didn't like it.

Inc Gamers- Grasping much? I've never even heard of this site. It's probably like posting a VSD game review as gospel.

Why are we even discussing the story of a Resistance game? It wasn't like they were ever trying to create BioShock or something with it.

I have really no desire to play this after not really caring for either of the first 2, but at some point I'll probably stumble upon it. The thing that always perplexes me is how this is the same developer of the R&C series. Especially after 3 games. R&C went from good to better to great (and then great and great on the PS3), while Resistance for me went from average to good to bad to (based on reviews I've read) back to average to good.

Because the stories are at least a bit cooler than the typical military shooter trite.

Insomniac is known for their humor and crazy ass weapons, which R&C had in spades. Resistance has the unique and awesome weapons down but since it's a serious game the humor is out the window.

Really starting to like the multiplayer. I mentioned earlier that I've never really played any Resistance MP before. But after a few matches and getting used to trying to play FPS MP on PS3 it's really starting to grow on me. Hopefully I'll be putting some good time into this over the weekend. Anybody else plan on logging some MP time over the weekend?

I can't get connected. Played it for a couple of hours like 3 days ago..... Now whenever I go to matchmaking, it will search for a game for about a minute and time out. Anyone else having this problem?
