    [ALL] Saints Row The Third

Saints Row 3 Coming This Fall

THQ formally announced it will ship Saints Row 3 this coming fall. CEO Brian Farrell confirmed the news on yesterday's publisher earnings call.

"In the fall, we plan to launch the latest installment of our Saints Row franchise, which we view as a significant growth driver in fiscal 2012," he stated.

"Volition is setting a new bar for this outstanding franchise and we look forward to unveiling this game in the near future."

Additionally, Saints Row: Drive-By, first announced for the Nintendo 3DS, is also coming to Xbox Live, which will unlock items in Saints Row 3.

I can't wait. Saints Row is the only game that has done GTA right. But this is not GTA, its less gritty and more humorous.

SR2 was awesome. I know I had more fun on it than I did with GTA4 because there is just so much shit to do and also Co-op is another thing it has over GTA4.

Danny Bilson, executive vice president of Core Games at THQ, has let slip that the company will be making a “HUGE” announcement in March.

Writing on Twitter, Bilson teased, "Look for a HUGE announcement from us the second week in March!"

“Will come with lots of content," he added.

All fingers point towards a long-awaited reveal for Saints Row 3, which THQ put on ice last year due to “quality” reasons, says CVG. However, Bilson’s been drip-feeding us tantalizing tidbits over the past few months, describing the sandbox sequel as “outrageous” and “over the top.”

Still, regardless whether or not the announcement pertains to Saints Row 3, we're still stoked. Stay tuned.

That was a ton of fun. I remember the Big Ass Chains mode.

As far as the GTA4 vs. SR2 argument/discussion.

I think GTA4 was a better game, told a better story, etc. but I had a ton more fun with SR2 if that makes sense...

Agreed. I don't think anyone can argue that SR has the better story. But as far as gameplay and fun, it's SR all the way.

Okay, I've had this discussion with people and they didn't really understand.

GTAIV is clearly BETTER than SR2, but I enjoyed SR2 more. It's the same thing as Mass Effect. I know it's an awesome game, it's really good, but I just can't get into it.

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. – March 3, 2011 – THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI) and Volition, Inc. ® today announced the upcoming release of Saints Row®: The ThirdTM, the highly-anticipated next installment in the multi-million unit selling Saints Row franchise.

Developed by Volition, Inc., Saints Row: The Third is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC this holiday season.

“Saints Row: The Third puts you on top of the world, right at the beginning of the game, with all the perks that go along with being the head of an elite criminal organization,” said Danny Bilson, THQ Executive Vice President, Core Games. “There’s no delivering pizza, no shuttling family members about in a long series of taxi missions. Instead, you take all the power of the Third Street Saints and you take the world by storm.”

The first details of Saints Row: The Third will be revealed in the exclusive cover story in Game Informer®’s April issue, shipping to subscribers in early March 2011.

                            About Saints Row: The Third

Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you. The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to a new city, playing out the most outlandish gameplay scenarios ever seen. Strap it on.
