Ok, that didn't turn out so well. How about we just set it on Easy and try to blow through them?

Getting booted at the end of that third mission after dying like 10 times was the straw the broke the camels back.

After getting a lawsuit slapped against them, EA seems to have finally changed their tune...

Attempting to do right by its consumers, EA has posted instructions on how to digitally obtain Battlefield 1943 on PSN in the coming weeks. According to its promotional website, Battlefield 1943 will be downloadable for free with a web voucher in the UK on November 26, in North America on December 10, and in Asia and Japan on December 17.
EA originally told crowds at E3 to expect the free game with the Battlefield sequel when it arrived in October. Later, when the company announced via Twitter is was replacing it with free BF3 expansions, jilted PS3 owners took their frustrations to the internet, going so far as taking EA to court over its alleged bait-and-switch tactics.
It's a good thing that they've backtracked to the point where EA will now go through with their promise of giving out free games... damn shame it took a lawsuit to do it though.

I bet the P.R. department at their company will spin it to the point where they'll take credit for "hearing what their fans had to say" in order to "reward them" for brand loyalty.

I finished the campaign last night. I don't know why it was getting so much flak. I thought it was pretty damn good. It was one of he most intense campaigns I have played in quite some time.

Well, I think it's because it seems to rip everything from the last few CoD campaigns. I thought it was fine, but nothing special. The lack of control on the vehicle levels was especially disappointing.

Not that I have any direct experience, maybe Rylo or Pete could chime in, but it seems like the BF campaign is far more authentic, which is why I really liked it. I liked CoD's campaign too but for different reasons.

Well, I think it has better pacing, but I wasn't blown away by it. Solid, though.

Can someone explain to me EXACTLY how the melee works in this game? I've held it down, I've tapped it, but I get killed almost every time because I slice the guy in the face and he guns me down.

Not sure what you mean? I just press R2 (PS3) and I stab the guy. I've seen it glitch some times but that's about it.

There have been more than a few occasions where I sneak up behind a guy and when I'm right behind him I hit RB (360) and absolutely nothing happens....

It's definitely a little wonky. I've had the most success when I tap RB to equip the knife and then use RT to attack.

I usually sneak up behind them and accidentally press L2, they hear/see the grenade and turn around and shoot me.

Don't bring a knife to a gun fight. Stabbing at someone, or slicing at them isn't an insta-kill ala Call of Duty. I'm not even sure the hit damage it does, but it definitely won't kill em, and you'll be lucky to survive long enough to re-equip your gun and shoot them down.

If you're sneaking up behind them, just hit RB once, is what I usually do.

Man, that looks so much better. Playing on console, you don't experience epic battles with 32 guys to a side.

That's ridiculous...I've been using the Recon class a lot more lately but I suck at sniping haha.
