Playing through the SP mode a lil bit before UC3 last night and I am getting this weird Blops theory about the story....

 

There was something weird in the interrogation room. The first time was when Blackburn is lookin out the window and something weird happens in the building within view. The second was when they are talkin about Lt. Colby Hawkins. The interrogator refers to Hawkins as a She and even Blackburn is surprised, but when you flash back Hawkins is a legit dude flying the jet. If this turns into another BLOPS/Assassin's Creed Mindfuck story mode, I will be pissed.

Perhaps I'm an idiot, but you play as Hawkins in the jet scene. You never see her/his face, so I take it on faith that you're a girl

BTW does anyone have a problem firing up this game on the PS3, I swear the God I have had to reboot the console 3x since I have gotten this game because it freezes on startup.

Yeah, I've had this a few times. ONLY when I accept an invitation before my game finishes loading though.

Story Spoilers.

Not kidding, shitdick.

 

Blackburn and Co. go through Iran as Peacekeepers up until the earthquake hits.

The PLR seizes power after the earthquake hits and with it, the Iranian, Russian and Solomon put a plan in effect that would start WW3 using nukes in Paris and New York while the American forces are busy fighting the PLR.

Blackburn, Hawkins and the Tank Gunner guy, plus the group of NPC Marines that follow you around all end up fighting the PLR until Blackburn finds a third nuke.

Tank Gunner Guy saves Blackburn but ends up getting merked by the Iranian leader of the PLR.

The Iranian guy ends up getting killed but snitches on Solomon and the Russian.

Blackburn and whoever's left of the Marines goes after the Russian until it's just him, Montes and Cole.

...

The GRU group of Russians also catch wind of the PLR/Solomon/Russian plot so they also go to get the Russian Guy.

The GRU guys get to him and find out about the plot to nuke New York and Paris.

...

Blackburn meets up with the GRU guys and ends up making a deal to save New York while the GRU guys go save Paris.

Blackburn kills Cole, effectively leaving the original unit surrounding you from the start to just Montes and whatever American NPCs are still fighting the PLR at the time.

...

Blackburn gets interrogated (I would assume Solomon dimed him out as Solomon has files you find in Paris that would implicate Blackburn that you can look at when you do the "Comrades" level) and we get most of the story (with the Jet and Tank POVs filled in where Blackburn wasn't by the Interrogators)...

Up until Blackburn hears that the GRU team failed to stop the Paris bombing...

The "Comrades" mission that you played earlier in the game was that failure and now it's up the Blackburn to prevent the NYC bombing.

Blackburn escapes with Montes and stops Solomon by bricking the sonuvabitch in the head after a long CQC fight.

 

IMO, EA/DICE now have to contend with MW3's monster sales and the PLR/Russian plot-points because of Paris and the fallout of what to do about US/Russian forces engaging.

I decided to start leveling up the Support class since I unlocked all of the non-co-op weapons for the Engineer class. All I can say is that the M249 turns on EZ-Mode. Taking out a group of four or five people in a bunch has never been easier.

I finally unlocked the UMP. I love it. Need a holo sight for it cause the reflex isn't cutting it.

Considering how shitty that team was you were well needed with the zaps.. lol..

I don't mind it with iron sights. Now I can make some progress on this Recon class. I'm not all that great of a sniper.

I've only leveled up the Recon class once, I'm a terrible sniper and I feel like the one I have unlocked sucks anyway so I just stick with the other 3 classes.

Just watch the trailer(which actually wasn't bad), pick your console, and then log in afterwards to unlock 5 dog tags.

I did the same thing in BC2 using the G3. There are some nice tools in the Recon class that can really help when deployed on the front lines too.

I only use non-sniper rifles with the recon class. As soon as I unlock the UMP, I'll be using it quite frequently.
