Ok I know there was a thread started when the demo came out. I never downloaded it.

Just looking for peoples opinions here

I went out and bought it Friday night, and finished the "story" in 2 hours that night.

What is everyone's take on it now?

Was there any "fixes" from the DEMO

It doesn't feel too much, if at all, different from the demo. Stamina feels a little better. But still isn't right. But sliders can fix this. When they work

Story mode was okay. Just okay. Typical, predictable good vs evil story. Interesting fights, but not anything I haven't seen before. Terrible antagonist. Final fight against the antagonist was a grinder.

I put the game at 11pm and was done with it between 1 and 1:30. (closer to 1:30 so 2and a half. Plus I skipped through a bit of the story BS with the skip movie)

The three scenarios where you can only figtht with your left hand, body shots, protect that eye, I knocked them all out in the following round. When I did the Frost stuff (hang in for 2 rounds, body shots for 3, protect the eye for 2) I knocked him out 10 secs into round 8. Was surprised how quick he went down.

the Story was ok, i agree. I you can see some of the fights set up

Not sure, didnt see anywhere to change it.

I put the game in entered the code for EA OnlinePass and the thing just started, I didnt even see an option to get out of it. I didnt even want to do the story. Thats why I skipped everything.

Ok this game officially sucks. Someone was exactly right, its Rock'um Sock'um Robots. Glad it only cost me a little with my trades. I guess Im holding out for Tiger now and will get by with some games on Live.

hey do any of you guys know how to unlock some of the fighters without purchasing them?

Beat them, the fictional characters that is. You have to purchase any of the alternate versions of fighters already in or the Heavy Weight Legends pack. I purchased the alternate versions of Hopkins, Pacquiao, Jones Jr etc... for 99 cents total. Not much but complete bullshit when you think of it considering the fact this shit is already on the disc and you are basically paying to unlock it.

Is this game any good online? I'm thinking about getting it, but from what I've seen the stamina is awful, as in anyone can throw 100+ punches every round, and the footwork is kinda slow. Has the tuner packs addressed any of this and can you play GOAT online? Or better yet, use sliders in gyms/seasons?

The story sucked ass big time. the game is pretty much the same from last year (career mode anyway) I literally hated the boxing, like I said in a previous post "its rock'em sock'em robots" didnt care for the training how you paid to train at a gym and then do the training. better gym costs more money and I never really knew where I stood. I didnt understand the meters from traning.

I didnt get to play online but I did like the idea that they had championships

I just play online, so the story being bad isn't a worry for me. Did you have the game long enough for any of the tuner packs?

I was just reading some of the impressions of the latest tuner over at OS and it seems like the game has gotten even worse. More arcade than what you're describing, so Imma stay away. Thanks.

Stamina has taken a huge hit. Try to throw 100+ punches a round and you will be sucking air in 3-5 rounds depending on which weight class you use. The 1st tuner made is so jab spam was the cheese of choice. A new patch was supposedly released today (360 only of course) which addressed the jab spam amongst other things. The game has potential but some of the fundamental shit they fucked up makes it just an OK game. If they keep fixing shit via patch and tuner the game can be great. We shall see.

There is no skill level online being as though is human vs human/one on one. There are no sliders for gyms, they lied about that.
