Madden 12 to emphasize concussion concerns

Seriously? Are you fucking shitting me? Can this already terrible franchise get any worse, that now with the exclusive license they feel the need to turn into the league's propaganda machine.

No more "violent" diving hits (head involvement) from defenders according to the article

          And why does it matter?

How dare they treat concussions like a real injury. FUCK THAT.

The bad thing is, your runner will get tripped up or you will get hit in the leg and get a concussion.

Personally, I think the hard assed helmets they wear is more of a cause than anything else. I wonder if there are stats from when they wore leather helmets?

Maybe they need to wear nerf helmets.

Maybe in 2013 EA can replace Madden with EA Flag Football 2013.

Actually, that might be kinda cool.

I can't blame them for trying, but lets just take all of the fun out of Madden now.

I wont buy the game due to the lockout in all likelihood, but I can see where it would be a deal breaker for many.

madden is pretty much irrelevant to me at this point. NCAA is way more fun.

How does a game with crippled A.I , atrocious secondary play , unrealistic receiver routes , no gang tackling , sticky lineman , robo QBs , jet packs , and a decade old physics engine find the time to incorporate concussions ??

Im fully expecting them to tell the NFL "we really wanted to add this but were short on time but trust us its on the top of our list for next years game we're listening to you guys"
Best reason to have a license.

"It starts with young kids -- they start in video games. I think the osmosis is if you get a concussion, that's a serious thing and you shouldn't play. Or leading with the head that you want to eliminate. We want that message to be strong."

Madden agrees with the game's new emphasis on proper tackling techniques and the seriousness of concussions, telling The Times "if we show players playing through [concussions], then kids won't understand."

                        Sending messages through Madden?

Great, kids in little leagues everywhere will be trying to A-gap blitz and Rocket catch...

I don't think they're "incorporating" shit. Overreact much? All that other shit you listed off, while not represented well in the game, has nothing to do with this. It's typical publicity around this particular topic in football. It's a hot topic.

It seems like the only thing that's really being changed is when the concussion occurs, that player will most likely be out for the rest of the game. Opposed to getting the option to risk further injury/side effects. Of course, this is just my assumption.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they have been in the game for years. It's just EA fishing for publicity and making it look like they care about a hot button topic.
