Pretty much most of what's changed in offline, at least to some degree...or what's the point?

Playoff tiebreakers haven't been talked about, but those must be fixed too.

The only hesitation I have is all these changes will be moot if the gameplay is still boring.

Offence was fun last year, there's no doubt. Defence was the problem and ruined all the improvements to playing offence.

All the gameplay improvements are in the direction of furthering the game on Offence and correcting the imbalance in defence, so I'm thinking the gameplay will be sufficient at worst this year.

I never play online, but for those of you who do, I hope you get what you're looking for.

I didn't see anything about real 3-4 depth charts and rosters. Did I miss it? or was it not mentioned. The games always been geared toward 4-3.

I think the game has been geared more towards personnel to fit a defenses scheme. Speed once again rules and you need it at the olb position to run a 3-4. This is how Madden 11 has been anyways.

No, I mean, the minimum requirements for a position when coming up with a final roster, like requiring 3 defensive tackles. I always had to waste a roster spot for a player I would never use.

And, maddens past, when I went into formation subs, I would only find 4-3 formations and not the 3-4 formations. So I could only go by depth chart to assign players to 3-4 positions, I could never assign players by 3-4 formation.

And why in the world would PP groan my question? Sometimes you guys make absolutely no sense at all.

I wouldn't say it was "geared towards the 4-3." It's still MLB #1 and #2 were the two ILB. And ROLB and LOLB were the outside LB. But as far as position requirements for 3-4 team's roster, nothing has been said.

I've completely forgot about formation subs. They weren't in M11, and now that I think about it, probably won't be in 12. Which is a shame, if so. It'd also be nice to get packages too.

PP is a habitual groaner for reasons only he understands.

Madden has always been a game built on speed so I doubt gameplay changes are worth a damn in that regard.

NCAA had formation subs last year and Madden didn't? What the crap?

I wish they'd get rid of the ROLB and LOLB in favor of SLB and WLB. Is the problem that EA's football AI can't recognize strong side? They have blitzes labeled as "Strong" and "Weak", too, which doesn't make any sense. In the end, I guess it doesn't make a difference because the ROLB and LOLB are pretty much interchangeable in the game anyways.

True for Madden and NCAA and even FIFA, to some degree.

Rosters are fully editable this year within Franchise Mode.

Again, the key is if that includes draft classes for me.

                              On that note, saw this:

@ around 1:10 you see "Import Draft Class Tuning".

                              Sold.

What do you mean? The ones they made or the imported ones from NCAA? Either way they say every player in the game can be edited within Franchise Mode, so I'm thinking that answers the question.
