This whole Wii U situation is just odd IMO. Why introduce a new console without detailing the specs for the actual console on stage (including disc specs)? The new controller is nice and all, but the announcement seems a little half-assed.

Seriously this new system is looking pretty damn stupid. It looks like another Wii with a bigger goofier controller. I am not interested in this at all.

It's good to know that my waning (or perhaps it's already at zero?) interest in Nintendo is warranted. This thing is just bizarre, and definitely does scream 360 with wonky controller.

And I could not care less about having shit like Mario in HD. For 1) I'm so fucking sick of Nintendo being the least creative video game creator out there by simply trotting out the same old slew of shit every system -- I'm not 12 anymore; and for 2) Games like Mario aren't going to look much different in HD than they did on the Wii. Their cartoony graphic style would work in any definition.

I still love those games. Hell, I started DKCR before I left for vacation and was loving it. And I played Yoshi's Island on DS while on vacation. Those are still a fucking blast but Nintendo, and one could say almost all of Japanese gaming as a whole, is still living in the 80's-90's. And I also 100% agree that their core franchises aren't or can't really look any better in HD. It's the game play that makes those games fun, not eye popping graphics.

Um, speak for someone else, not me. I have never bought a CoD game, and the only sports game I've bought in the last 10 years has been the Show. And are you serious? You collect the same shit in every Zelda game ever, every Metroid game, every Mario game. There are slight variations between iterations but the story is always the same (see: fucking terrible and juvenile) and you essentially do the same shit every one, with some silly new gimmick tossed in depending on the edition.
