Konami emphasized that both HD remakes are more than just emulator-based updates. The games are being "optimized and rebuilt" for the PS3 and Xbox 360, with a new user interface customized for HD resolutions. Konami has also redrawn the games' 2D art, effects, and fonts; improved audio quality; and included trophies and achievements. Force feedback and right analog stick functionality have also been added.

With no backwards compatibility, this is pretty much a must buy.

Definitely a must buy. I wish they would have at least included MGS: The Twin Snakes though.

I'm eager to see if Kojima will reveal his plan for the 25th anniversary of the first Metal Gear at E3.

Too much work? It was a PS1 game so I imagine upscaling it requires more effort.

Exactly. I still have my MGS1 discs and while the graphics are lacking, it's still the same great game.

I'm just stoked they're porting Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater plus Peace Walker to PS3. Figured I would never play the 2 & 3 ones again since I'm not getting my broke ass ps2 outta the closet and checking if it can read discs still.
