    [PS3] Refurbished PS3 60 GB from Gamestop

I was wondering if anyone here has any expiereince buying a refurbished PS3 from gamestop. I'm looking at buying another PS3 as I currently have the PS3 Slim system in my mancave. Looking to get a 2nd system for the living room so the kids and wife can use it and I was looking into getting a refurbished system. I have a Wii to trade in to help bring the cost down but I am always skeptical when it comes to used systems. If I do go this route I will definitely buy the 2 year extended warranty for $40

I know the 60GB model is hardware backwards compatible so thats why I am leaning towards that one. Any help or suggestions you guys can give me would be great.

Are you getting it so they can play games (including PS2 titles)? or watch BluRay movies? I see online a 60gb Refurb goes for $300?!?! If you really want them to play PS2 games, I would just get a PS2 bundle; otherwise, I would just get a newer 160 gb system for the same price ($300). I had a 60gb and it died on me; its the model with the highest failure rate of the PS3.

I had about 10 games for the wii and they had a 50% more trade in credit deal for every game so i got like $320 for everything so I ended up taking some advice and got the 320 gb PS3 Move bundle. I heard alot of people that had bad luck with the gamestop refurbs so I stayed away.

fyi...alot of games have locked game saves, so you can't put them on a usb and go to the other PS3 and upload the save file. I've been reading that online because I was thinking of getting another PS3 for another room...not sure which games this is true for in its library.

That is where the cloud saves become useful. I purchased a 1 yr PS plus membership a few months before the hack so I will have to try that out.
