This game is beautiful and the audio is awesome. It has DTS on PS3, not sure about 360. I don't think the 360 supports that codec? The hunting seems really cool and there seem to be a ton of collectibles. Lobving the game so far.

My only minor complaint is that there aren't any control options. They don't even let you swap the shoulder buttons which sucks because I prefer using L2/R2 to aim/shoot because of the triggers I have.

        Saw that on YouTube. Insane.

So I was finally able to pull myself away from SimCity to fire this up. This game is damn fun so far. The setting is dark, mysterious and sometimes even creepy. They're doing a good job at pulling the emotional strings for Lara so far. When she killed her first person, you felt what she felt. We've all seen it in trailers, but I just came across the part where Roth tells Lara, "Lara, you're a Croft" and Lara doesn't think she's that kind of Croft, you just get this big grin and think, "man, it's time for Lara to become the Tomb Raider." The game looks fantastic, there's just nothing more to say about it. One of the better looking console games you'll come across. Really loving the open parts. I'll spend a good 20-30 minutes just scouring the area for salvage and collectibles. The bow and arrow are very satisfying. Definitely the best 3rd person bow and arrow I've come across (and even rivals the awesomeness of using it in Far Cry 3).

So far, I'm having a great time in this game. I'm a huge action/adventure junky with all of this treasure hunting stuff, so hopefully my opinion isn't too skewed haha. Can't wait to continue on tomorrow. I'm very interested to see how this stacks up to Uncharted in my eyes once I'm done with it. Oh, and Camilla Ludington is very easy on the eyes lol.

SO after being so fucking excited for this, I picked the game up Tuesday as soon as best buy opened. I had to go to school right after but I had planned on playing all day after, but on my way home from class, I got into a fucking car accident and had to deal with that the rest of the day and even into today. With no car, ima have to stay home for awhile until I find one worth purchasing. I am just now getting to this. Make matters worse, both my sisters have played a good portion of the game already, only annoying me more than I already was.

              Just started.

Went through the first QTE, no problem.

The second one got dicey as I was too busy staring at the screen and moving the left stick to realize I had to hit Triangle in time.

              I made the Conan Face...

...got back on-track until I had to restart my system when it froze while I was checking my XMB.

Not even into the story yet and I'm wiping out entire generations of Bambi and Thumper's family with this bow and arrow set I just found.

It's not open world but you have some small open areas to explore for relics, salvage and tombs (and you can fast travel back to those areas during the game or after). I'd say it's closer to Uncharted than Far Cry 3. I haven't finished yet, but I've been hearing 10-15 hours depending on how much stuff you look for. The gameplay is very much like Uncharted with good setpieces and platforming, but the combat is much better. Also, the tone is much darker than Uncharted.

EDIT: Forgot to mention it does have a player and weapon upgrading system that is more on par with Far Cry 3 (although you don't buy the weapon upgrades, you use the salvage that you find).

That part was excellent. I didn't get a chance to play more yesterday between SH with the wife, Bf3 with the VSN crew and watching a movie. Hopefully I can play more tonight because this game is excellent.

My two small quibbles so far are the overabundance of wolves in the open areas and how many times Lara says "Okay". It seems that after every perilous jump she makes she gather herself and says that. Annoying. But those issues are extremely minor. The game looks incredible, sounds incredible, the voice acting is top notch (Camilla Luddington ), the XP system seems smartly done and I love searching for the collectibles.

I'm playing a little bit of Ranked TDM online and I'm in a room surrounded by...

Plays more or less like UC2/UC3 would with some extras thrown into the mode (I saw some "lightning rods" that I guess you can use as environmental hazards alongside some rope snares to string up people and oil you can use to create fire barriers with)...

Basically you use the secondary characters and enemy-types from the story (although like RDR, you can unlock Primary Characters when you reach Top Rank Status... so like Marston, you can play as Lara herself later on), gear up with customizable sets (guns, explosives, attachments and perks) that you can either earn through grinding or buying them with salvage you can pick up mid-match...

The shooting mechanics feel like they would in single-player (floatier UC2/UC3 physics if you need a comparison) and it's real easy to go Lone Wolf if the other team doesn't have mics as I found out going on a rampage.

The maps you play on... are generic with elevated areas that provide higher ground advantages and sometimes zip-lines you can use to go from point-to-point in a jiffy.

It doesn't feel tacked-on but it's nothing "special" or specifically made to WOW and amaze anybody that's looking for the end-all-be-all 3rd person shooter/objective shooter.

I might have to try mp tonight after we get tired/frustrated with Bf3.

I love exploring in this game. Far too often I think I wander off and go looking for shit instead of sticking to the main story.
