[PS3] Alleged Playstation Network Hackers Arrested in Spain

Three members of the infamous Anonymous "hacktivist" group have been arrested in Spain on charges of being involved in the recent devastating attack on the PlayStation Network, as well as for other unrelated cyber-attacks.

As Reuters reports, three unnamed suspects were arrested in three separate Spanish cities. All were described as being in their 30s. According to the report, Spanish police claim those arrested "were guilty of coordinated computer hacking attacks from a server set up in a house in Gijon in the north of Spain."

There's little else in the way of concrete details currently available, but we will update this story as further information develops.

It doesn't change the fact that they broke in and stole personal information.

It also doesn't change the fact that now there are more copycat groups who are breaking into companies just for the hell of it because they saw these nimrods do it.

These's "nimrods" proved that anyone could be doing it very easily, before them, after them, who fucking cares.

Sony has to protect your data and it WASN'T protected. Yeah, cuss up these guys for showing you that Sony is fucking failing everyone.

            Try thinking.

Kmanharris does prove a point however. There are more and more hacking groups copycatting Anonymous’s attacks. www.codemasters.com was just recently hacked, a British development studio- just released Dirt 3, the attack stole names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, passwords, IP addresses and Xbox gamer tags. This shit is escalating and getting out of hand.

I'm not saying Sony isn't at fault, because they are, but praising these faggots is ridiculous. They still broke the law and should be punished accordingly.

I'm not cussing up these guys for showing that Sony is failing, I am cussing up these guys because 1) they broke the law, and 2) now that they succeeded, all the other "hacker" groups are going to try their hand at breaking into companies and stealing your personal information. But whatever, I mean, they showed Sony is a failure so lets celebrate it. Right?

These companies demand your data left right and fucking centre...then leave it vulnerable and unencrypted.

It's time they fucking changed their habits if they are going to constantly build databases of public information. The end result of all this is going to be stricter policies on companies to protect this stuff.

These companies took your information, put it in a box with a neon flashing sign saying "FUCKING TAKE ME" and you're more mad with the thieves than the company?

How would you feel if the Bank decided to leave the vaults unlocked and you lost all your money? You not going to be pissed at the bank?

The best part is if they charge these guys with something crazy you just know there's another 1000 or so sick nerds out there who are going to go after sony again.

                      Leafs offseason training!

Even if they weren’t linked to the attack on PSN, they were members of Anonymous. That is fact, I say waterboard these clowns until they give up some quality information.

Apparently these 3 guys have been linked in hacking several Spanish banks as well, they probably won't be getting off too easily.

Thanks for the update. These guys weren't involved with getting PSN shut down, but they did manage to hack into "an online Playstation store". I think it's important to remember that these guys weren't arrested for their actions against Sony alone, and they were organizing attacks on Spanish banks and government sites.

i remember when marshall's and dsw had the exact same thing happen to them. maybe there wasnt tens of millions of customers whose data was stolen, but you can expect this to happen to many more companies. their data isnt secure. i am waiting for one of the hacker groups to break into experian, equifax or transunion. i will be impressed when they break into the major banks and add money to everyones accounts. do something positive if you are gonna risk jail time.
