I can't say about Phil, but during the last cycle Ian looked like the most depressed emo kid on the planet. Didn't look like a guy looking for a new challenge, looked like he was utterly defeated.
I should have specified I was speaking generally, not specifically regarding Ian or Phil. Honestly, I have no idea what they are going through or thinking. However if I had to guess I would completely agree with you.

I completely support this notion. These guys were in a tough situation of being the intermediary between the common fan and the board room. Each group has a conflicting idea of what improvements should be made to the game. At heart, I bet Ian and Phil were fans of the series and it just killed them having to wax poetic about the shit the suits were fucking up.

With Looman doing franchise it can only get better, look at how different and improved franchise looks already, we have been demanding these changes for years now and somebody finally did it, his first go around.

It is a great thing, NCAA has awesome Online Dynasty, that team cares about online play and leagues, now hopefully Madden follows and puts out an online franchise that is more than just a list of names and a schedule, maybe some FA, random draft classes, etc.

I don't think it was Looman's decision to make franchise great.

When he made Head Coach 09 and was brought into Madden, everyone figured he'd be making a sick Franchise mode. Instead he was making that shitty fucking MUT mode until they finally decided to make a game with what the regular Madden players want.

He does what he's told to.

I know it wasn't his decision, what I meant by it was that with them allowing him to be the one working franchise it looks lightyears ahead of the past few games

Fuck EA's marketing team, just a despicable POS of a group. If these guys are leaving because they got sick of the marketing bs then good for them.

They're just as bad when it comes to NCAA but it's probably less pressure since that game doesn't move as many units.

edit lol at Ian whining about people making youtube vids in that OS thread. Like it's their fault Madden was/is trash and he was one of the main ones putting his name on it. Thats what happens when you have game devs running around cutting promos for a game that routinely fails to deliver.

and lol at adembrowski still shilling, dudes the worst. I remember having a convo with him on this forum before either Madden 10 or 11 came out and he was going on and on about how great Ian was and how his vision is going to make Madden a great game. Now Ian's gone and he's saying the same shit about the next guy. Just shameless cocksucking.

How can you be surprised or sick of being a marketed face by EA? That's what you sign up for, good article in this months Game Informer was talking about that how they got top guys because they were a company that not only marketed it's games but the creators themselves. If it comes out bad of course you are going to get criticized, would he be complaining if everybody praised the game and he got all the credit?

                  I agree.

It's funny how their devs will run around from Jan-August hyping the game...then when it's released and the criticism comes in they whine about how unfair the world is. I don't know what they expect.

They know the drill when they accept the job. All I'm saying is if some of them finally realized what a joke it is and quit, then good.

He may try to influence the decision, but how much influence he would have may be debatable, and I doubt he makes the decision. I think you are right, but I would just add to it that I wouldn't be surprised if Looman campaigns and has campaigned for expanding franchise.

The thing with Looman isn't whether it is his decision to do something or not. The guy has genuine vision and talent and puts it to whatever he is doing. Head Coach was awesome and I'm confident what he has done with franchise will be lightyears ahead of what has come before.
