Yeah, I never understood why there are multiple Gamestops in a single mall. It''s obviously because at one time before the merger, one was a GS and the other a EB. It's still dumb.

The fact that they can sustain multiple stores within feet of each other is baffling.

I live in southeast VA, particularly Franklin. All the gamestops I know how to get to are at malls in Norfolk, Chesapeake. And some stores by themselves in Portsmouth/Chesapeake.

54 miles south of Petersburg and about 21 miles west of Suffolk. So I'm in the Tidewater region.

The mall near me had 3 Gamestops for a while, but they finally closed one of them last year. Before they closed one, two of them were directly in front of a set of escalators, one being downstairs and the other upstairs. Ridiculous.

Ten years ago, these stores were called Software Etc., Electronics Boutique, and EB Games..all of them ended up being bought out by Gamestop.

I get in my car, turn right, then left, then right and Im there. Total time spent in car is 1:23 seconds.

Other than that, no real reasons.

bestbuy gives a lot of money when you sell games.

Yeah. The Arundel Mills shopping mall in Hanover MD has two Gamestops in the mall, in addition to a Best Buy and another electronics store that escapes my memory right now.

In Annapolis, there are three Gamestops within about a mile of each other. Its absolutely nuts how they can support themselves.

I guess their strategy is to saturate high traffic areas with as many stores as possible so that way more people are just inclined to shop there because it's always the closest games store to them.

I can't remember the last time I bought anything at gamestop. Probably last summer when I traded a couple games in for ncaa 11. I haven't been to a midnight release there in years. Now that I'm a bit older I prefer the no bullshit route and just picking the game up at Walmart if I want it at midnight. As far as trades I was pleasantly surprised by best buys program. I got almost $50 for tw12 and ncaa 11 there last month and considering I had gotten tw12 for $35 I thought it was pretty good. Amazon also has trade ins but after trying it I prefer to be able to do it in person.

Long ramble short, I don't shop at gamestop anymore.

Idk if they all do yet. I think it still varies store by store. They offer you a pretty good trade but their prices on used games are terrible.

Hate gamestop. Hate the overbearing sales pitches. No I don't wanna buy a card, magazine or pre-order some random game. Also since I don't buy many games and do research before hand I don't need the cashier to give me a description of the game I'm already buying. Preordering games is stupid nowadays and I can't stand pre-order dlc so they really don't have any special to offer.

I only go there if they're offering me the best price on a game or trade in.

                                Fuck them.

Theyre the reason mom and pops disappeared , used game prices are about 38 cents less than new , and main culprit behind online codes.

To this day I will never ever understand how any one with half a brain shopped at EB/GS over mom and pops. Maybe it was my area but cash for games , super low prices on used games , no tax hook ups , imported games , repair services , were somehow beat by 57.99 used games and GIVE US YOUR MADDEN 11 AND WE'LL GIVE YOU 3 NICKELS TOWARDS NEW GAME!!!
