I was saying last night how I miss the old PS2 online days. EA had the messenger, and you could click on any friend, and check out stats from the last 10 games, what team they used and so on. Also they had pretty deep personal stats you could check as well.
I don;t even know if and where you can check points for and against online for your own games. So they even have simple stats like that you can check for yourself, I can't find it?Comment

boy, RtG can be frustrating. started mine over with IDU's rosters and on All American. Also got a few of the teams from my high schools conference on team builder and created my high school.
All of those elements have made the game mor fun and realistic. Whats driving me nuts is the play calling. Im a RB, and my god damn coach will go a half with calling only 1 run. And every time my team gets near the goal line, this mother fucker takes me out. I've managed, miraculously to average about 120 yds per game. Thats mostly cause I go along get 4 or 5 yard per carry and then eventually rip off a big run. I would say 400 of my 500-ish yards after 4 games are off of huge runs.
I do like that All American is tougher on grading. I had interest from every school in the nation after 5-6 games on the varsity test run I did. This time I am through 4 games and just broke the 2 star mark. still have some bigger schools interested but surely not as anything more than deep on the depth chart.
I'm starting to think RTG is a "choose your own adventure" book in video game form. I'm a power RB...the three schools I chose at first were all "multiple" or run-first schools (Miami, Iowa, and Bowling Green). In my first game, very traditional pro-set stuff. Lots of basic stuff out of the I-Formation. Powers, dives, stay in to block, maybe ran three routes all game and didn't have a pass thrown my way.
I had about 10 carries in a 21-10 win over my first school at around 70 yards and two touchdowns.
Three new schools showed interest (Buffalo, Temple, and Marshall).
I choose Buffalo. They are a primary spread team.
So, the next game I play...my school's offense is completely different from the first. Ridiculous option plays and lots of passing. I end up with like 6 carries 40 yards, and a touchdown, but most of my runs came within the 10 yard line. Plus, I was asked to receive passes the majority of the game, however, only had 2 balls thrown to me all game (caught them both and picked up like 30 yards).
I think RtG is less of a "how you do in a game" mode...but rather "how do you do in these situations" and the situations change depending on the school you choose to be in the running for your services. So, if you are looking at spread schools, they'll put you in spread situations. If you are looking at run based schools, you'll see more traditional stuff.
Kinda weird.Comment

IMO Road to Glory is so boring.....the idea is great but there is no life to the game....you just feel like a robot doing the same tasks over and over and over without much reward.Comment

Example being, like Spidey said, they will go stretches of the game without you, the player, playing...at least early on. So, it helps limit your ability to compile stats, especially if you are an "Iron Man Athlete" and playing both sides of the ball.
I had a total of ONE play come my direction in two games as a middle linebacker (!!). Every other play, I either was not on the field or the play was out on the boundaries.
Pretty indifferent.
The idea of playing your senior season + playoffs and then starting from the bottom and moving up is pretty awesome...just seems lifeless and robotic though.Comment

Already posted two of these in my wishlist, but thought I'd post here too. Pics from my first game of a dynasty after picking up my copy:
...breaking a tackle on a bubble screen.
The defender looks at his costly mistake!! Great screen to me!!
A touchdown later in the game. Notice the sideline and crowd isnt even looking at the action! haComment
