I think that pipeline players will commit to a school on signing day if there is space on your roster. Even if you haven't offered them, if they are first on your list and you aren't over the limit they will walk on.

Then there is also the "practice squad" walk ons to fill position requirements, but I don't think that is what you are talking about.

And as for the kickers, some positions can be really wonky. One year I will be loaded with like 6 RBs no seniors, and have all the top RBs interested in me. And say I have 2 senior MLBs, I will maybe have 1 3 star guy interested at that position. While I have nothing to back this up, I think you have to build a "position pipeline". I noticed that once my 4 star SS developed into a Thorpe winner, all the sudden I could pick and choose from all the secondary players. Like once you prove that playing for your school could excel their career more players at that position become interested, despite the depth chart.

Maybe I am way off base though.

Do you know if they used scholarships on them? Normally when I see it happen to me I have scholarships missing which is interesting because on the recruiting help I have it all turned off.

I'm confused why a kid who has no offers, wouldn't accept an offer from the current national champions, unless he doesn't want to play football in college. But then I don't think EA really went that in depth with the game.
I have seen this happen plenty of times. I will be the only one to offer the guy and he will either go to a school that didn't offer him or not go anywhere. I am guessing that the guy is basically choosing to walk on that other team. As for him just not picking a school I guess you could look at it as him either not wanting to play or going to play at a junior college or something. But like you said I am not sure if EA is really thinking that in depth about it.

Maynard was raging in the chatbox last night about this game but never mentioned anything specific.

Was searching the TB site this morning to look for some All-Time teams. Found 16 I really liked. Planning on doing some sort of double-elimination, seeded, tourney with them till we get a patch for the roster fuck up. At which point I can start a dynasty.

Picked the top 12 schools that have the most national championships since the Poll era (1936). Then seeded them by most national championships. If there was a tie, I gave the higher seed to the school that had the most recent championship. Top 4 get byes.

          Top 12 teams:

          #1 - Alabama*
          #2 - Notre Dame*
          #3 - USC*
          #4 - Oklahoma*
          #5 - Miami
          #6 - Nebraska
          #7 - Ohio State
          #8 - Texas
          #9 - Florida
          #10 - LSU
          #11 - FSU
          #12 - Michigan

I'm having an annoying problem online.

After ranked quick games, or lobby games when I return to the main menu screen, I select Ranked Quick Game again I get the following message "The Playstation Network Account Limitations prevents you from using this feature". Something to that effect.

If I click on LOBBY again, everything is just blank. With 1 minute, the network just kicks me off and I have to log in again. Just annoying, anyone know what's cause this? I'd like to just fire up another game after a play one, but it takes a few minutes for the annoying messages to stop coming up. Sometimes I have to restart the whole game.

I don;t have any disconnects in around 60 games, no lag issues, no connection issues. Just this weird message after games on the menu screen.

Sounds incredible. Looking forward to seeing JaMarcus Russell and Billy Cannon in the same backfield, and Tommy Casanova and LaRon Landry in the same secondary.

              Please do keep us posted.

                They're all there Nahste!

First set of games is as follows:

                #5 Miami vs #12 Michigan

#6 Nebraska vs #11 Florida State

#7 Ohio State vs #10 LSU

                #8 Texas vs #9 Florida

With it being all-time rosters, it is hard to decide who to start at certain positions. For example, for Alabama, you have to decide between Joe Namath and Ken Stabler. I went by college win percentage. Stabler is the #1 for the Tide.

Overall, I think Miami has the most talent. Their interior defensive line depth is scary (Sapp, Brown, Kennedy & Maryland).

I am hoping to play one of the games tonight. Either Miami/Michigan or Nebraska/Florida State.

I needed a QB, I sign two. Then come to find out, I actually signed four because I apparently signed 2 other qbs on signing day, not to mention a tackle, a hb, a and a ss I didn't even target.

Also, why is that I was number 2 on an OG's list, was the only one who offered a scholarship, and yet he committed to his number 1 school Texas, who didn't offer a scholarship?

I also really dislike the fact that despite having just won the National title and having lost my senior kicker, I couldn't sign a single kicker. I target about 7 throughout the season, I couldn't get into the top 5 with any of them. Not only that, but during the off season recruiting I offered a kicker who had no offers, and was still only in the top 10 stage. He was a 1 star kicker, who I promised playing time, yada yada, yada. Did he sign? No. He didn't sign with anyone. You'd think that if a team just won the National Title and said "Hey we want you to be our starting kicker" you'd accept their offer, considering no one else was even recruiting you. I did notice that one of the kickers I was recruiting apparently didn't even qualify for college. Gee, I wish I would've known he wasn't going to qualify a little earlier. I wouldn't have chased him all season.

Players leaving early really fuck you this year. I lost my best defensive linemen who went pro early, leaving me a gap at DT. Go into the offseason recruiting and see that all the decent linemen have already committed. I'm left with guys who will simply be tackling dummies.
Check your recruiting plan. You may have recruiting assistance turned on. If you do, the cpu will offer players even if you dont if you have scholarships available. Also if you have and need areas and didn't fill them, you will have walk ons.

decided to play games against the cpu today for the first time

good to see it still has retarded clock management logic:

down 3 with 3 minutes to go they come out on 4th down to punt...their punter waits for the playclock to run down to 0 before hiking effectively wasting 20-30 seconds. Then later on I complete a pass and get knocked out of bounds with ~1:30 to go, computer immediately calls timeout despite the clock being stopped.

This game is a bit frustrating. It's a fun game, but the freezing is a game killer. Just played my Miami U dynasty vs. UNC, win a nice tight game and it freezes when loading on exit.

Freezing is the one thing I won't tolerate with a video game.

Yeah if I were a betting man I'd take an all-time Miami team over anyone. They had the most talent bar none in the late 80s, early 90s, and early 00s.

Yeah I've run into some issues with that also, it's weird because usually not even EA will accept that in their shipped copy, but in NCAA 12 it seems to pop up at the worst times.

                            1* JUCO > most 4* players.

When I'm at a lower tiered school...1*, 2* prestige...I make a living off recruiting JUCO kids. I don't have them for four years...but who cares? I have them for two and they start off as 77, 75, 73, high 60's overall, which means, for my 1* program that are immediate plug and play players, especially for the first year, second year.

The good thing is, these JUCOs are rarely recruited at all, and are easy to get as long as you work'em hard.

Got a 2* linebacker that came in at a 77, two 2* WR that came in as an 75, 1* CB that came in as a 78, and a 2* DT that came in as a 73...all starters in my second year of dynasty.

Has it always been that way? Or is that just a change they made to this year's recruiting interface? I've never noticed JUCO's being that valuable. I will have to consider that when it comes to trying to build USF once I start my dynasty. Sure, I get a ton of talent in Florida, but, I always fuck up against the big boys. Lack of depth really. Knowing that 1 and 2* JUCO's could be more valuable than 4* freshman will dramatically change my recruiting approach.
