I just played the demo and I'm a little disappointed. Way to many game changing plays. Just feels like it's going to be a struggle with sliders to get something realistic. I'm hearing it just in this thread. I mean it's 5 minute quarters and we're hearing about 60 yard runs and long bombs. I would like the number of big plays to be about the same as what would happen in a real game.

I liked it all the way up the point where I exited to the XMB from the game; was left with just the Theme with no icons or option to turn off the system other than doing a hard reboot; and then being met with a prompt saying my "hard drive/hardware has to be rebuilt."

Luckily nothing was deleted and all my saves were intact.

I actually think the demo plays well.

I don't like the camera in the demo, should be able to change it

The speed of the game seems weird to me. Even on very slow, it seems too fast but that might be the zoomed out camera.

Sometimes when players get hit, they accelerate to the ground , obviously , but it just seems too fast. Its like they're launched from a cannon . Just something weird about it.


They fixed the sideline catches.. very nice actually.

I only played one game but it I like it better than I Have in years.

I can live without the commentators, will probably keep it off.

I like the play calling, as someone else (KG? ) mentioned. Its non-obstructive and the play calling is decent .

btw, I played on Pro.

Some animations seem weird when you see them live, at game speed but when you goto the replay, they look better.

Anyway, my thoughts for the moment. I will say that its much better than NCAA. I played that crap ass game twice before I benched it.

Pros:

• Love the presentation, I never find myself skipping through any of the cuts.
• The sideline catches are pretty sweet, I had a nice one with Knox.
• Im liking that the kicking is a little tougher, it was way too easy in the previous releases.
• The new high catch animations are nice, good to see they actually go up and catch the ball.
• Zone defense seems a lot better.
• Progressive lighting is pretty sweet, good to see the finally added the shit back. Hopefully it's online.
• Graphics look far better on my TV than NCAA, can't wait to see what it looks like when I get it on Xbox.
• Clay Mathews is an absolute beast, I found myself avoiding his side on runs. If I did run to his side, Forte would get killed. :laugh:

Cons:

• Been seeing a good amount of fumbles, hopefully that won't be a problem.
• The CPU still runs out of bounds near the sideline when they break a tackle
• Had way too many sacks vs the CPU. I think I sacked Cutler at least 8 times in one game and I wasn't even blitzing all that much.
• CPU still drops the easy picks and picks off the tough ones. :bizzaro:

seems pretty solid. i see a few WTF issues here and there, but nothing some sliders couldnt fix

one thing that really bugs me that i forgot about was how they use a different control scheme then ncaa....its just a reminder of who we are dealing with

graphically it seemed kind of dark. And QBs seemed to move lighting fast

adjust the speed slider if you find QB's too fast.

lol thats because the bears oline is a piece of shit and cutler gets rocked because of that.

Not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about an animation kicking in waaaaaaaay too early. So no matter how many times you press a button to throw the ball the QB will just hold onto the ball and wait to be hit.

This has always been a problem with Madden/NCAA because the default quarter length is 5 and they want to get to realistic scores/stats out of that shortened time frame. So ya you'd have to struggle with sliders if you want big plays and things like that toned down.
