[PS3] How do you deal with multiple PS3s...

    Situation:
I have 2 rooms with and Xbox in each. Sometimes I play in one room and sometimes I play in the other. With the Xbox I just quickly remove the HDD and snap it in the other one and vice versa. This is very easy and it is like having the same system in each room.

    Question:
How would I do this with the PS3? Can I buy an external HDD and have all my data on there and move it from room to room to play in either room? I don't think I can....so how would you deal with this?

Does cloud saves from PS+ work for what you need?

sure but what about my profile and friends list and shit......I honestly don't want to deal with the cloud or PS+.

I just want my PS3 in room B to look identical to my PS3 in room A.

        FYI I don't have 2 PS3s yet....this would need to work b4 I bought #2.

Well you can create a user and log into PSN under ur name on that username. I have my PSN shit setup at my buddys house. I think the cloud saves would let u upload the save to the cloud and download onto the 2nd ps3 but that is a PS+ feature

yeah but what about downloaded games? For instance Dead Nation....I am playing in room B and stop.....go to room A and continue. Will both PS3s have access to a downloaded PS3 arcade game. I get the save should work but what about the game?

PS3 has game sharing. You can share it between up to 5 PS3s, so just download that shit on the other PS3.

Then send me one of them...

I guess I dont need a PS+ account either....I could just use my 16GB USB thumb drive and plug it in the system I am using for game saves.

yes if u wanna go thru the trouble of copying things back and forth after each time shouldn't be an issue. Copying saves isn't too cumbersome.. i just remember a while ago u had to have the right folder structure etc.

Yeah FAT32 file structure to use and external. Looks like this can be done without swapping hard drives like the XBOX.

Why is that hard? It's actually way easier that detaching a hard drive. You can have your PSN tag/profile on multiple PS3's so you could sign in on either one and it will bring up all your friends, trophies etc. The cloud would handle all of the save issues.

I actually can't believe after all this time you didn't know you could share downloads on up to five PS3's. That's pretty common knowledge and one of the greatest things about the PS3. Every game that I buy I download on my wife's PS3 too so that if we ever decide to play Dead Nation, or any other game, co-op, we can.

                            JMS...I am dissapoint.

I was thinking of getting another Xbox but wouldn't you need to recover your gamertag everytime or does using the same HD mean you don't have to do this?

Edit: I forgot the new Xbox doesn't use the same harddrive.
