    Offline Free Agency Clip

That would be straight up dope as well to do in Online. Schedule a date and time and then just go at it with 31 other dudes (no homo).

This was so much fun in Head Coach, glad it made its way to Madden.

Looked like Matt Hasselbeck got a huge contract too, as he scrolled through players/positions.

According to a site he signed a 3yr/21M deal with the Titans....so that # isn't too far fetched.

So the user no longer has say on terms of the contract? You can't put more of the money towards the end of it? Overall, I like what it does...adds suspense and makes it go by faster.

edit: I thought you could do this before, maybe not.

I'm unimpressed. I'm not sure if different contract structures made it's way into the game but I'm guessing it didn't because absolutely no negotiating went on. You just press a button and you have the highest bid? Not liking that. I want the option to front load a contract, back load it, so on and so forth. Madden's contracts are structured one way and that's it.

I wasn't a fan of this way anyways because it doesn't take into account anything other than money.

Look at the video. The Cowboys started with about 29 mil, signed Hardwick and Glover Quin and their cap room goes down to about 17 million? What the... Looks like in franchise mode it's now gonna be very important to be able to build through the draft because some of these guys seem way overpaid.

If it's like head coach 09 you do some negotiating after the bid.

The bid is just to set the basic parameters contract length and price.

In head coach you can haggle on the signing bonus, incentives after. No clue if they have front/back loading etc.

Things I don't like about it are some players ask for long term deals, and sometimes w/o a legitimate reason for doing so. And it makes it so FAs only care about $$$ not team quality and stuff like that.

                  1) You get to choose how the deal is structured, EA already said that.

                  2) In real life players typically want specific lengths in deals, so really for the player to dictate what they want to the teams makes some sense.

I wasn't following the cap number closely, I'll have to look again, but those 2 deals were probably around 12-13M combined per year...

oh and P.S. TGT Free Agency shits all over this. Srs.

Still sucks that there isnt any player logic as to where they want to go and for what reasons. Older players should lean towards contenders, a FA like Chris Johnson for example shouldnt want to go to Minnesota, some players may favor warm weather teams, Some WRs may shy away from certain teams because of their QB situation etc... etc....

I watched it on my phone the first time. It was Kolb's numbers I saw. Hasselbeck's was a realistic deal.

I don't think I like the bidding. It'd be nice for there to be an option to revert to classic free agency.

As long as you can still negotiate with them afterwards I don't see a huge problem.

As long as you can negotiate afterwards. But what happens if those negotiations go wrong, you change your mind, whatever. Technically free agency is now over, what happens? He just sits in there til the season starts?

Either the game will force you or they should end up in the FA Pool. Like others have said, I don't like how they took out older players signing for Rings. Hopefully, they add this back in next year.
