    [PS3] VSN Community General Discussion

This is a place to set up a game, talk shit or whatever other general discussion needs to take place. There is only one rule to this thread. All legit complaints about someone needs to be sent in PM form to me or another admin. We will not allow this thread to be cluttered with page upon page of pissing and moaning about what you think someone did to break the sim rules.

Below is our basic guideline for the rules of our community. Any questions about our rules can be directed to myself or Killgod.

    1. General Expectations:

In order to ensure that the league is a fun and fair experience for all its members, a few basic guidelines are in place for each contest:

1.1 A) Use Multiple offensive and defensive formations
    1.1 B) Diversify your play-calling
1.1 C) No manual shifting or pulling players off the line of scrimmage
1.1 D) It is expected that every player will continue to do their best throughout an entire contest. "Giving up" during a game (by playing unreasonably and/or acting foolish) will not be tolerated
1.1 E) Remember that although our league tries to create a simulation of real football, what you see in the NFL may not be reflected entirely in a league game. Likewise, just because something is done in an NFL game does not make it acceptable in TGT. The rules are in place for a reason, and every owner is responsible for abiding by them

    2. Offense:

2.1 Substitutions - The following substitutions in the depth chart are allowable:

    2.1 B) HB to WR
    2.1 C) FB to HB
    2.1 D) FB to WR
    2.1 E) FB to TE
    2.1 F) TE to WR
    2.1 G) OL entirely interchangeable
    2.1 H) DL entirely interchangeable
    2.1 I) LB entirely interchangeable
    2.1 J) FS/SS to CB

2.2 4th down - You are allowed to go for a 4th down attempt in the following situations:

2.2 A) On 4th and inches on your opponent's side of the field
2.2 B) In any situation in the second half, IF you are down by 21 or more points
2.2 C) When using a "Coaches Choice". You are granted one "Coaches Choice" per half, which allows you to go for a 4th down in any situation (NOTE: Rule 2.2 A and Rule 2.2 B override the "Coaches Choice" should either of those situations be in effect at the same time. For example, if you are on the opponent's side of the field on 4th and inches and you go for it, this is not considered a "Coaches Choice". Likewise, if you are down 21 or more points in the second half, going for it on 4th down is not considered using your "Coaches Choice").

2.3 Motion - You are not allowed to snap the ball until a receiver completes their motion and is set.

2.4 Goalline Formation - You may not use Goalline formation unless you are in a short-yardage situation (3 yards or less) or you are within 10 yards of either endzone

2.5 Audibles - You may not audible down in any situation. Audibling down can create unrealistic substitutions such as WR at TE, WR at RB, etc...

2.6 Playaction - Do not abuse the playaction pass. This includes running an excessive amount of playaction pass. Running playaction pass in third and long situations is not allowed

    3. Defense:

3.1 Player Movement - You are allowed to move one player pre snap. You can not put that player on the defensive line. Nanos will not be tolerated

    4. Special Teams

4.1 Field Goals/Extra Points - You are not allowed to move a player pre-snap for any reason on defense during a field goal or extra point try

4.2 Fair Catch - If you call a fair catch, you must either catch the ball or get out of the way of the defender. You may not "box out" or try to impede a defenders path from downing the football

4.3 Punt Return - You are not allowed to move a player pre snap unless you're in a 4th and short situation and suspect a fake. In this case you may move one player. That player may not be on the defensive line.

    5. Game Management

5.1 Hurry Up Offence - The hurry up offence can be used sporadically if that's the kind of team you want run but keep it similar to how it's used in real life. It can also be used when losing by 14+pts in the 4th quarter or within 2 minutes in the half or game.

5.2 Running the Clock - If you're a team that's not very talented or built to run and grind clock then you may do so. Throughout the game you can churn off 30 seconds in between plays (using ACC Clock @ 15 seconds) if that's the tempo you want to set. Only once the game hits 3:00 to go you can run the clock down to 1 before snapping.
