OOBL also said 40, but i gotta ask you the same thing I asked him. Have you actually played on 40 or is this just a guess?

Also, you are fine with the pickup games playing differently than TGT games?

Honestly Darren McFadden does get caught from behind all the time. I break into the open and somehow there is always someone to catch up to me.

I'd be perfectly fine if it stayed the same but if we did change it maybe just a bump down to like 40.

Exactly, you literally are talking a fraction of a second. A lot can happen in that time on a football field.

I've had Ryan Grant break open for about 7-8 long runs over the games I have played in the past few days and nobody caught him from behind if he hit the second line of the defense at top speed. He's broken off several really good runs that due to the slightest contact slowing him down, allowed DL's or LB's to lay a huge hit on him or safety's to catch him before he is back running at full speed.

That is a guess and can you not touch speed threshold in the OF? If you can't then leave it. The settings should be uniform.

No, you cant change it in OF. That is one of the reasons I really dont want to fuck with it.

this should stay the same. if speed isnt a factor and its more about game planning then lowering the thresgold would just make speed the main factor again.

keep it as is. no need to get all crazy here. i mean people still outrun defenders, its not like there are no breakaways this year.

Hmm.. I haven't had Charles get caught from behind on a breakaway run.. This seems odd to me.

Every guy who runs a team with no speed players says keep it the same.
Every guy who runs a team with Chris Johnson and sees him chased from behind, from the other side of the field, by Assante Samuel says it's not right.

IMO, the speed threshold at 50 doesn't work, because no motherfucker catches Desean Jackson or Chris Johnson from behind ... and no DT chases down Michael Vick.

Of course that makes me the other side, since I run with Philly ... but seriously, I've seen lesser corners catch Desean - not realistic, period.

Frankly, I have that setting at 0 offline ... and it allows the speed players to be who they are, and not get cheesed by the CPU. And don't kid yourself, it's simply CPU cheese, not you being a great player.

I don't blame the St. Louis, Tampa Bay, etc guys wanting to keep the setting at 50. But they're only kidding themselves if they say it's the right setting. No one, and I mean no one, catches Chris Johnson or Desean Jackson from behind - unless it's in Madden ... and it has nothing to do with your user skills.

The thing is, idk if people realize how often on "breakaways" they get bumped or need to cut etc before they are truly in the open. Making the gap between fast and slow players bigger makes it tougher to catch them even though they may have had to break a tackle or got bumped by a blocker etc.

You guys have seriously seen fast players like Desean get caught from behind when running straight upfield in the open? Ive played an assload of games and Ive never seen any shit like that. Caught by someone that has an angle? Sure. Just flat out caught from behind?

They do have angles. If someone tries saying that a 59 speed guy caught a 99 speed guy purely from behind they are trolling you. When I said McFadden gets caught from behind it is with an angle but I feel he should be able to outrun some of these angles but I've never really cared enough to look at the replay and see whether I'm right or not.

                          This.

There are tons of break aways. I have broken my fair share with Lagarett Blount, whos only an 86 speed, whos burnt everyone and Ive also had him ran down by defenders when he seems to have a 10 yard step.

Its quite obvious that the guys with cheese speed all over the place wants that to play a bigger factor in the game and guys like myself and teams with lesser speed would like to keep it as is. Not only because my team is slower but because:

                          1. Play calling seems to play a bigger factor. In years past we have always complained about speed being the only thing that matters and now that it has changed people want it to be like it was in years past.

                          2. I have a funny feeling guys who want it changed dont want it because they are getting caught from behind by 79 speed players and shit, they would rather have their countless slants and drags to be harder to defend.

                          3. Lastly because its the NFL, how often do you see break out runs? Not very often and when they do happen guys like CJ and Adrian Peterson can and has been chased down. I highly doubt guys with high speed ratings are being caught from a straight line defender, in fact I call bullshit. They are more than likely being caught at an angle after picking up 50 plus yards. Stop being greedy.

Its the fucking NFL. Everyone plays fast. This isnt HS football where just because you are the fastest on the team your ass cant be touched. The game plays as realistic as Ive seen in all our years on playing Madden and now you wanna change shit because your ass cant break 4 long ass TDs per game.

I know one thing, when I played Hitman the other night Charles had 3 long ass break out TDs and I didnt catch his ass once. If it happened to you it isnt as rampant as some are putting on, Im sure. Someone with the Eagles and a cheesy ass dude like OOBL would love the thresh hold to be higher so they can run all over the fucking place with their QB's. Use your better judgement and keep the shit as is.

I definitely say if it can be changed in OF keep it standard in Community games. I like many others would like all games against my fellow vsn guys to be pretty uniform.

Besides ive had plenty of picks on 85-90 speed TEs with my 72 and 74 speed MLBs this year trollol.
