I do not think that MLB 2k9 will work online. At all.

Remember how 2k8 was always unplayable online since the day it was released? And it still is, they never bothered to fix it.

Then NBA 2k9 releases and is also broke online. Now, you cant even play a quick match online because of the lag.

I see the pattern, and 2k doesnt bother to fix it. If anybody is going to buy 2k9 and plans on playing online alot (not many people) I think you should rent or wait to hear how online runs first. A lot of people have burned by 2k, trying to save you some money (if you play online a lot)

you cant compare 2k8 to 2k9. 2k8 was made by a totally different developer who quit before the game was released. I played an unranked game in NBA yesterday and didnt notice much lag aside from the normal lag every online video game has.

It doesnt matter who makes the game, it all goes through 2k servers. And there garbage.

Yes it does matter who makes the game. 2k used to have two companies. One was in New York I believe and was called take 2. The other is Virtual Concepts and is in California. The only thing 2k does is put the name on the box. They were two totally different developers and have no contact with each other which is why they had to build 2k9 form the ground up.

NBA and MLB be do, but not 2k8 and 2k9 because the team that made 2k8 is no longer around. This thread is pointless. People should know not to waste there money on something they are not sure about. If you're not sure then rent the game for $6 instead of buying it for $60.

I'm trying to figure out your point, but I can't. There's no way to determine if the game will be broken online again without playing it, so you have nothing to backup any of your statements. Stop flaming 2k9 for no reason.

Exactly. People always dog on 2K because of the Online, when The Show, wasn't a playable game online either. It was a little more bareable that MLB 2K9. The Show was much better offline last season, though.

MLB 2K9 wasn't a horrible game offline, but it wasn't too great either. This year, it's looking much better offline.

The only downside I have on the Show, is the weird player models, and the button controls. I'm totally for Stick controls, which is a reason I don't go out of my way to play it too much. Another, is because I own a 360

Although 2k9 is shit online it has less to do with the lag and more to do with the terrible set up they have. The game is fine online, getting around that stupid fucking set up is the problem.

Yeah, the menu's are a bitch and finding a game isn't fun but once you're actually in the game. I've had no problems, I haven't faced any lagged and there's no D/C's like in Madden.
