So I guess every mission will be on one disc then? You have played a GTA game before, right?

How did Mass Effect do it because the way you handle missions in that game is kind of similar to GTA? Honestly I don't know which is why I'm asking. I know at least 2 and 3 were on multiple discs.

I'm using LA Noire as a loose example since it's the same company. Nothing was off limits location wise in LA Noire. There were clear lines of "Act 1 - Act 2 - Act 3" and I'd imagine it'll be the same. You'll do a handful of missions on Disc 1, then a bunch more on Disc 2 and so on. There wasn't a need to switch the disc if I went from northern Los Angeles to Hollywood or whatever, it was all cut up into missions.

And yes, I've beat every GTA game that's existed. But thanks for asking

Not to mention that this is an open world game. Chances are they will be putting sections of the game on different discs. So that means when you go from the city to teh countryside, and vice versa, you'll have to change the discs. At the very least the multiplayer will be on a separate disc. Hell, Max Payne 3 was on two disc and that game is MUCH smaller than GTA 5 will ever be.

how Big was Red dead redemption's open world?.. or borderlands 2?

but no BL2 wasnt rockstar, is there a precedent for 360 open world games having sections of those open worlds on seperate discs? hmnnn... some1 plz chime in bc i honestly cant think of one... was sleeping dogs open world?...does arkham city count? any of the assassins's creed games? How about LA Noire, i Never finished it...did it have sections of LA exclusively on disc 3?
