I did the 10GB install and it took 30 mins, but, it makes the load times in game very brief.

Played my first game and lost to the Twins with the Rays. Some things I took away from my game:

- Analog hitting is easier than last season...that's a good thing IMVHO. Last year, I felt the analog hitting was waaaay to precise.

- Having a good defensive catcher makes a HUGE FUCKING difference. Jose Molina behind the plate threw out 2 of 2 base runners trying to steal second base. Last year, I had Jaso and Shoppach and never threw anyone out.

- Pulse pitching is a little too difficult for me right now. I had to go back to analog pitching in the middle of the game.

- Balls appear to have more break on them this year which adds to the learning curve for pitching this year.

- Plate Umpires still fuck you over big time. I had a shoebox strike zone and the CPU seemed to be a good foot out of the zone and getting calls. It was funny because even the game (Matt, Dave and EK) started making comments about how unfair it was.

- Power pitchers seem to have a better opportunity to dominate than others. After switching to analog pitching, I dominated with Fernando Rodney over 3.0 IP, while struggling with Jeff Niemann.

- Love the game so far. This and UFC Undisputed will be plenty of entertainment for me.

Loading up the game now. I know it mentioned the 5 or 10 thing for faster load times. I just hit OK and let it do it's thing. When do I choose 5 or 10? Or does it default to the largest of you have the space?

Anybody else's game locking up (freezing) when you try to access any of the online menus (play now, gamercard)? Mine is doing that and I have to go back to the dashboard and quit the game.

My Vita version just came in (along with Unit 13). I won't get the PS3 one till Thursday from Newegg.

Loading up the game now. I know it mentioned the 5 or 10 thing for faster load times. I just hit OK and let it do it's thing. When do I choose 5 or 10? Or does it default to the largest of you have the space?

im installing now...the way i understood it was that its going to be a 5gb install no matter what...but u can choose 10 to make it have faster load times.

i never had this game install 5 gb in the past though so who knows

this happened to me in the morning, i have no idea but this is what I experienced and perhaps it'll help.


in the morning I was logged into PSN
tried to access Madden, got denied access to EA servers.
rebooted
PSN said down for maintenance.

OK.

in the early evening.
logged into PSN.
tried to access MAdden, same thing.
rebooted.
PSN said down for maintenance.

At this point realized it cannot be correct.

Checked the updates, alas, there is one. Updated.

Same problem.

Rebooted my router.

Problem solved.


Go figure.

Try again....I'm logging in after the 3rd try. I turned off the system and turned it back on ~30 seconds later.

I did read it. What I didn't understand was how you choose between the 5 and the 10. Maybe I misread something or missed it in there?

Also franchise scheduling is fucked. Every weekday game is a 7pm start. Weekends are all 1pm.

Some of the pictures and videos from OS are amazing though.
