Typical game of The Show for me. I am down 3-1 in the late innings against Boston. I let up a 2-run HR with 2 outs and go into the 9th down 5-1, and of course, in the top half of the 9th inning, I score 3 runs to lose 5-4.
FUCK YOU DAVID ORTIZ!!!
Maddon & Friedman: Pissing off the AL East since 2008
downloaded that 25 man roster. they do stick and seem pretty accurate to me.
curious if anyone knows how the injuries are this year. is the consensus to lower the injury slider for franchise?
Pretty much default sliders. I am done with tweaking sliders. I stopped that this year with Madden and it made life so much easier and the game more fun.
I find that default plays pretty good. The only change I made was to reliever stamina. I lowered it and that was it.
Also, I tried timing and zone hitting this year and both pissed me off. I went back to analog this morning and liked it much better. Overall, my settings look like this:
I think part of the popularity of this game is that it plays so well out of the box. Take a series like Madden where you have to tweak the shit out of it to get a playable game. Who wants to do that? MLB is plug and play and it feels great.
As I mentioned to FT in the CB. I started a Cubs chise. Was gonna post on here, but waiting 'til I can get the admins to turn HTML back on in the mlb chise subforum cause I need it to post my box scores and stuff.
This might only be good for me since I play on a Drive In screen but I made my batting camera as close to a first person view as I could while still seeing some of the batter.
My second season of RTTS is kinda ridiculous. I have a LF power hitter for the Padres. No defense. No speed. Just all lumber. In my first season I was hitting over .390 in AA and got called up pronto, then hit in the .340s in AAA. Once interleague came around I got called up to the bigs to DH against AL teams and then Carlos Quentin went on the DL. So that allowed my player to get starts in all three OF positions as well as serve as a bench bat every now and again. Once Quentin came back it was MLB bench duty and the manager wanted like 5 homes runs and walks even though I was only getting something like 15 ABs.
So after that, they started me in AAA for season two and it's ridiculous. My power ratings are in the 70s and my contact ratings are mid 60s. It's not even fair. Mid June and I'm hitting over .500 and leading my team in all batting categories despite missing two weeks with a finger injury. I like it in the sense that its a rainfall of training points every game, but it's lame in that there hasn't been an MLB call-up. I started to pour all the training points into speed so now it's somewhere in the 50s.
Oh and for all game modes its All-Star hitting and pitching. Zone hitting and Pulse pitching. I haven't screwed with sliders yet.
