3rd season of RTTS is underway... Finally in The Show! Starting LF and clean-up hitter for the Nationals. One year, +5MM contract. There's about a week left in Spring Training. I was going to sim through it because I'm anxious to be out of AAA, but I realized that hitting in AAA only is too easy so I decided to play through Spring Training to get used to Big League pitching.

That was a good call too, I was 0 for 10 with 5 K's before my first Spring Training hit (a double on the 3B line). I'm not by my PS3 at the moment but I think my ST numbers are a .340 avg slugging .900. Hit 9 home runs already.

Apparently if you are not in the month of April you can continue your franchise, with the patch, uninterrupted. I just played another game in my 'chise to see what would happen. No freeze of any kind. Looks like I may not need to restart after all.

BTW, first trade went down in my 'chise. It was between the Marlins and Tigers.

Marlins receive: jacob turner (sp) and daniel schlereth (rp)
Tigers receive: anibal sanchez (sp), steve cishek (rp) and greg dobbs (3b)

The Tigers then proceeded to place Greg Dobbs on waivers...lulz.

I like the trade for Miami. However, based off the trade chart I created for last year's game, the CPU made a nearly even swap between the two teams. The Marlins received 13.9 trade points and the Tigers received 13.65 trade points. Thus, the Marlins had a net gain of .25 trade points and the Tigers had a net loss of .25 trade points. Surprisingly even swap based off of the values assigned in my chart.

i decided to restart. i was in april. only 5 games in so no biggie there. But the rosters are not any fun to deal with at all. took me about 3 hours to add the players to the 40 man

Was reading more over at OS. I may still restart. Apparently if you access anything on the schedule screen for April (boxscore, scroll into that month, etc.) it freezes. Due to that, I think I am going to re-start. I still like to go back and look at games I didn't play and see sim results for how goes fared against certain teams, etc.

I bit the bullet and I am going to start over. The issue with not being able to go through box scores and the April part of the calendar was just silly, especially if I simply experienced a moment of absent mindedness or a simple oversight and happen locked up my 'chise. So I figure a restart is no big deal.

EDIT: ...and the sim-gods fucked me on my restart. I was simply going to sim to the point I was at before and take over from there. April 27th sim against Texas and I get a pop-up that says the following:

Evan Longoria sustained an injury (Fractured Arm) during today's game. It appears he will be out for about 1 to 2 months. What would you like to do?

I'm putting him on the 15-day DL in the hopes that he can return in about a month. Probably will shift "SeanRod" over to 3B for the time being which creates more PT for Brignac.

EDIT 2: I recalled Will Rhymes from Durham. It's going to be like musical chairs at 3B till Longoria comes back. Brignac, Zobrist, Rodriguez and Rhymes can all play at 3B.

chad qualls, rp (33 y.o. b pot) = 4.5 pts

total net pts = +2.5 pts

Phillies get:
cheslor cuthbert, 3b (19 y.o. a pot) = 8 pts

total net pts = -2.5 pts

Where did you get the idea that the game had a good trade engine? That's one of the main reasons why people do 30-team control Franchises (that and lineups). You can pretty much monitor and "Stern" trades (aka veto retarded ones like that). The CPU will still try to trade but you'll have to opportunity to accept/deny any offers.

Everyone running a franchise...do yourself a favor and pickup former Ray, and current Marlin, Randy Choate as a LOOGY for your team. Guy is fucking nailz in this game!
