Choate gave me all kinds of problems in The Golden Sombrero.
I have yet to trade for him in my 'chise as I like to make trades in June/July, and I just got into June, so I will likely make a move for him in the very near future. IDK what it is with him, but, when I use him in exhibition games, dude is unhittable.
Maddon & Friedman: Pissing off the AL East since 2008
It is mid-June right now and the Yankees are 6.5 games up and I am 1.5 gb of Texas for the WC. Wanted some advice as I am looking to move Matt Joyce. He is 26, b pot, but, his current ratings are D's and F's across the board so he may not progress to a "B" before he begins his decline. His numbers right now are pretty bad. .163 avg, .259 obp, .275 slg%. I would like to add a 2B and start playing Zobrist out in RF and possibly add a long-term answer at the Catcher position.
Just looking for a plug and play 2B or something bigger and better?
Leaf what are the chances I could get you to start your own franchise thread in the chise section?
I'm about to start a Twins one.
I love reading them, but, I just don't have the time to devote to one. Working on my MBA and working full-time makes it hard. This week is a little different as I took the week off to catch up on some stuff so I am playing a little more. But, playing a game and adding a recap is a two hour time investment for me so I just post random updates now and then.

I understand. If you did want to do a quick and simple one that would work too. Basically just throw what you type in here in there. It would be easier for me to subscribe to so I can check it out from my phone on the road.
Motherfuckin' R.A. Dickey!!! His knuckleball fucked up my timing and I struggled to do anything all game. When I finally got his timing down and had 2 runners on late in the game, the Mets go to the pen and an 89 mph fastball looks completely unhittable. Anyway, I lost 3-1 and I am worried my timing is all fucked up and will take a few games to get back.
In other news, Sam Fuld and Luke Scott are finally off the DL and healthy to play. Thank God! I can finally get some more speed in the outfield with Fuld and get Scott's bat back in the lineup. To make room for Fuld, I sent UT/IF Elliot Johnson down to AAA Durham. Also during my sim, Sean Rodriguez suffered a fractured forearm and will be out 1-2 months and will be put on the 60-day DL. The injury now forces me to either sign a FA, call up Hak Ju-Lee or make a trade.
News from around the league:
- Roy Oswalt was signed by the Tigers
- Angels place SS/2B Andrew Romine on outright waivers
- Angels place RP Steve Edlefsen on outright waivers
- Angels place 2B Alexi Amarista on outright waivers
Trades:
Oakland gets: c jp arencibia
Toronto gets: sp dallas braden
-------------------------------
St. Louis gets: 1b/c victor martinez
Detroit gets: c bryan anderson, sp adam wainwright and p kyle mclellan

My road to the show chise is pissing me off. I lost the starting job, by hitting .150 over the first two months when I was learning how to play the game. I finished the year hitting .280. Now I'm the backup in AAA, it's the end of May 2013, and I'm hitting .380 on the year. Still the backup. I'm barely getting any points for training, so I feel like my rating will fall behind.
I always pass my advancement goals, except homeruns (I have 1 in 300 at bats) and walks (three).
I've narrowed my focus on a 2B to the following three players: ss/2b didi gregorious (reds), ss/2b jeudy valdez (padres) & ss/2b tsuyoshi nishioka (twins). Not sure who I am going to try and swing a deal for as I am still in decision-making mode. Nishioka would be a great glove in the middle infield. Gregorious and Valdez would bring more to the plate. Not sure which direction to go just yet.

So, as I mentioned in the chatbox, I'm working on a roster project right now that will be putting all the MLB players back on the teams they were originally drafted by (if they were drafted multiple times, then who they signed with). This was inspired by a homegrown stat that I saw on Quick Pitch last night which I found interesting. Japs and Cubans and shit that were signed as free agents count as well.
I'll keep you guys updated and post each team as I finish it.
Right now I just finished the first team, the Orioles. As expected, they're not very good.

Definitely got worse offensively. Pitching I think pretty much stayed static. Masterson isn't much different than Beckett at this point, and Papelbon gets to come back so, idk.

Yanks lineup took a huge hit with Swisher, A-Rod, Tex, Granderson, and Martin all departing, and being replaced by Shelley Duncan, Hideki Matsui, Jesus Montero, Eduardo Nunez, Nick Johnson, and Austin Jackson. Yikes. Rotation is a bit weakened as well with the departure of C.C. and Kuroda. Kennedy and Karstens return. Bullpen improves. Soriano's gone, but Clippard, Coke, and Choate are solid additions.

edit: Stumbled across Juan Miranda on the Rays roster. Forgot him because he was signed and not drafted. Doesn't change the lineup much, just makes him a bench player instead of Colin Curtis.
