    PS 3 Issue...

Moved in with the fiancee and at my old place my roommate had an HD TV that my PS3 was hooked into so I was playing it on that.

Until tax return time my fiancee and I won't have a HD TV so I need to connect my PS3 using the old yellow-white-and red cables. Problem is when I hook up my PS3 to this TV all I get is a blank screen. I think the problem is the PS3 settings are still looking for an HD TV signal/cord. Anyway around this so I can play my PS3 or do I have just have to wait until March when I get my new HD TV?

Ok, if you can find an hd-tv to connect it to again, that would be the easiest way. Connect it to an hd-tv and change the video settings from HDMI to RGB or whatever it's called.

The other way to do it is to reset your ps3 back to factory settings. Read the instruction manual but I think you hold the power button for 10 seconds or something and then when you reboot it will be back to factory settings where you can enable it for rgb cables.

This happened to me once when taking my ps3 frmo and hd-tv to an older one that wasn't hd compatible. Problem is, the older shittier tv can support the HD and therefore you get the blank screen.

This is an easy thing to fix as long as you find out how to reset your ps3. A little research will net you the answer you are looking for.

I don't want to reset my PS3 so I will probably just let it go and wait until tax time when I get my new TV and just hook it up and go from there.

That's a long time. Up to you though. Resetting your ps3 doesn't hurt it anyway. It will only make it as if you just took it out of the box. All the stuff that was on your hard drive(save files, etc.) will still be on there.

          Really?

That's my concern. I don't want to risk losing my files.

Out of the box it didnt have my files on it though so if I reset it to factory settings I was worried they'd be gone.

Yeah FT from a powered down state just hold down power button for 10-15 secs you'll hear it beep 2x and then a screen will come up asking what display resolution you want to go with.

Ive done this multiple times and it has no adverse effect on your system. Its not like a hard drive reboot or anything.
