[360] I am wanting to start getting into recording..

This is what I want to be able to do. Stream my live 360 online gameplay, and also take vids that I can upload to Youtube. I was looking at the hauppage pvr's, but none of them seem to be able to use HDMI? Is this common? For a reason?

Also, after I buy one of thse PVR's do I have to buy more stuff to be able to do what I want to? Or is that it?

Thanks in advance for the help guys

I'd ask Humble on his thoughts about this. Would also post this over in the electronics or whatever section as well.

See if you can find JMS. He knows far too much about this stuff.

Black magic intensity card - that allows HDMI but its expensive and you need a good rig to use.

Hauppauge HDPVR - easy and probably best option now - no HDMI

new product i saw here a week ago.

After I buy the PVR, do I have to buy a bunch of software to be able to stream games?

Basically, the main thing I want to be able to do is Live Stream my games (like cod mw3), and Also would love to be able to post some vids up on youtube. for the stream you dont have to edit at all, but for the youtube I'm sure a little editing would be nice?

It's very odd that Sony Vegas is so popular. That would be my fourth choice, at best, if I were to edit video. Maybe fifth behind iMovie.

Streaming is a whole different ballgame. Recording is a simple as hitting the record button.

Agreed. Is it just the easiest to pirate or something? If I had a choice that'd be one of the last.

All about Adobe Premiere Pro for me.

you cant record 360/PS3/BluRay Movie players in HDMI cables......
the whole purpose behind HDMI is for copyright protection (HDCP).

you need to use the Component cables to record 360/PS3/BluRay Movie players.

the HDMI recording is for Camcorders.

these companies dont really tell you that until you spend your money, lol.
i spent $100s and $100s maybe even $1+Ks finding this BS out. between cables, converters, equipment and software for editing.

and depending how you want the video replay to be publicized, you will need editing software that also ignores, HDCP (Hi Def Copyright)....
you can always playback with what ever the equipment comes with or uses.
but if you want to edit, thats another story.

I use Roxio Videowave. only issue is that i requires a minimum resolution of 1280x768. that cost me too....so, yah its definitely $1+Ks

now it seem like there has been some new Recording equipment made available in the market
BUT i can assure they have NOT changed the HDCP restrictions.

fyi: i use the Hava/Monsoon recorder.....
the problem i have with this is that i have to use my older Laptop with XP since there isnt any new software for Windows 7.
3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complaining
