Picked this up yesterday..................a couple of comments: I played one online game last night. It was extremely smooth. I noticed at most two minor "hiccups" during gameplay. Of course they occured while the ball was between pitcher and batter and caused a swing and miss. Nice thing here is the screen will tell you how good your connection is before you play. Our's was a "GREEN-EXCELLENT" prior to starting.
Next, a small thing, but cool, the chalk in the batter's box will disolve during the game. This is the first time in the series that they have done this. I love the small stuff. Also, which we saw in the demo, the gradual changing of the lighting from dusk to dark. It was sweet. The "empty dugout" is still there. Why can't they fix it? I don't understand????
Offline the the chants/cheers option is very nice (if you have the time to tinker). I added a couple of cheers/jeers. I used my old PS2 headset and it worked like a champ. Next thing you know you can hear your voice "cheering" at your favorite player. It's fun stuff.
In "practice" mode I like the batting cage. It's a nice way to kill a few minutes and work on your stroke.
They added a "golden era" and "silver era" all-star squads for you to play around with. A nice touch!

Too lazy to scroll back through the other pages.. so forgive me if this has already been shared.
I am running a Tampa Bay franchise and I added Manny Ramirez to my team via FA.. well their first game is in Boston.. and I was so impressed that the commentary on the game was so in tune with everything that Vasgersian goes "And lets listen to this reaction from the crowd as Manny Ramirez makes his first appearance in his old stomping grounds of Fenway Park" (or something to that extent).. and then the crowd just rips the shit out of Manny.
It was beautiful.
Another awesome observation.. Dice K was mowing me down.. and Matty V touches on how he has retired the last 9 guys and the camera shows Dice K watching the Around the Horn thing with a big smile on his face.

For those of you that like some of the "little things," you may want to give this a try.
After a fly ball (I like using a homerun!) go back and run the replay. When running the replay have the cursor zero in on the ball. It's easiest to do while the ball is in flight between the pitcher and hitter. Follow the ball on the replay in slow motion. Once the ball is elevated let it stop and use your right stick to rotate the camera. You get an AWESOME panoramic view of the stadium and any of the surroundings. If you go back to follow the ball it will only follow it until it reaches the edge of the outfield wall for some reason. But it is still pretty cool!"Pulse Pitching" is my BITCH!
