normal......its still challenging.
gets tough when you need to switch and change weapons still, just need to time it right.
i still have to do plenty of stealthy and silent attacks without bringing all the attraction.
Ellie is turning out to be the best character in this game
But
i suppose getting "emotionally involved" from earlier in the game is a excellent reason.
she is really funny.........lots of character.
Joel is conceding to her as well......making it even better
i am about %51 complete with 9hours+ spent on the game.
taking time and going through just about every room possible, scavenging for parts/supplies, etc....
really love this game.....
i now think its a combo of:
The Walking Dead -character, role play
I am Legend - Story line
28 Days Later - the infected & psycho patrol
needs to be move...........3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complainingComment

Bloaters......pain the ass.
there is an "easier" way to deal with them but i will let you have fun
Why this game scaring me like this Im on the part where......
The elevator breaks when you are giving Ellie a boost. Im down in the dark, flooded part of the building tryna get away from this bloater after powering on the generator but I dont know where he is since I dropped down this hole and ran away. Dont know how to get to where I need to be either.
This headset got me jumping at every little thing too.
not sure if i will do that again; lol.
need to power to use the keycard; so the Generator has to be powered up. just wait for the Bloater and the Runners to come to you.....take them all out.
much easier than trying to run around and fight them off. focus on the Bloater 1st though. he usually comes 1st, so you have to "pre-occupy" him with a "created weapon" to slow him down.
took about 30min to figure out what & when. great part though....3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complainingComment

did that for a little while yesterday in the dark (during and getting past that part you did here).........that was really creepy.
not sure if i will do that again; lol.
how much of the game have you completed %; i did 9hours and i am 51%......just curious if you guys blasting through or taking your time

So I was talking to Swarley last night (on Voxer, suck my balls Handle ;)) and we were talking about how immersive this game Is. This is the first game in a long time where I genuinely feel like I'm in the game world and involved in what's happening and like he said, I care about these characters. I know he was very high on Infinite and I mentioned how that was one of the main reasons why that game was such a let down to me. I didn't feel any of that with Infinite. I was just going through the paces and shooting people. I didn't care about Booker and I barely cared about Elizabeth. I've only played about four hours of this game but this is the shit I look for in a GotY candidate. Infinite just isn't even close. He even said that after playing this and thinking back to Infinite now that a few months have passed Infinite isn't so amazing after all. It's way early but so far it's Tomb Raider and this game and infinite isn't even a thought.
I will say there is one thing that is really bugging me about this game and It takes me out of the experience. I understand that they want to make resources scarce by why Is that when I take down an enemy with a gun only rarely does he have any ammo? I've killed a few guys before they could even get a shot off and yet he doesn't drop a gun or ammo?Comment

Just beat the game on Normal in a little under 14 hours. This game definitely had one of the best video game stories, and that is mainly due to the characters. Not since Clementine in The Walking Dead have I cared about a character as much as I did with Ellie. The voice acting was superb and really brought the characters to life.
Another thing The Last of Us had was polish. I felt like I was playing a AAA Naughty Dog game the entire time. The cutscenes were gorgeous. The soundtrack was phenomenal. Controls were tight. Voice acting was on a totally different level compared to most games. Just an all around great game.
Only one thing disappointed me.
I expected to be moved emotionally by the ending, but honestly I didn't really feel anything. I guessed pretty early on that Ellie was going to have to be sacrificed in order for a vaccine to be made. What caught me a little off guard was once they got to the hospital, Ellie was taken straight into surgery without so much as one last conversation with Joel.
Of course, Joel ends up running in and saving the day and saving Ellie. But even as he was running out of the hospital, I think the ending conversation with Marlene was a little clunky. Once they cut to Joel driving, I thought maybe they were going to go with the ambiguous ending, not letting us know what Joel ended up deciding. But then Ellie starts to stir in the back. I was left thinking, "Okay? Is that it?"
I think the very final conversation between Joel and Ellie really did nothing other than to open the door for the possibility of a sequel, which I guess isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Overall, I'd give this game a solid 9/10.Comment

Overall, I'd give this game a solid 9/10.While I do very much agree that the ending wasn't as emotional as I wanted it to be, I still very much enjoyed it. Though Ellie is the favorite, this is very much Joel's story. I understand that he can';t move on from his own daughter and for his won selfish reasons he knows she'd sacrifice herself for the greater good, and he couldn't handle losing another daughter. I kind of love that the ending we get isn't this bittersweet happy ending, they save the world from disease but instead get a dark twisted conclusion that most companies always try to avoid. While I'd love to see a sequel and see the consequences of Joel's decision, I'd only want it if it really brought something great to the story. It's cliche to say that because of course you always want a great story, but I'd rather leave this alone than have a average sequel. I would love to see a sequel jump a few years into the future and the world is just pitiful and Joel knows fully well that he could have saved it. The reprussions of that choice completely flips the page for both the characters to evolve and add a great second chapter to this story Naughty Dog created.
In the end though the game is a perfect 10/10. I had a few minor complaints but that's the thing, they're minor. This had everything I have ever wanted in a game and more and I will forever give ND my money. This is a system seller and its crazy we got this in the PS3's later years.Comment

Got a text from a buddy of mine asking me what Faction I'm playing for online for MP.
Seeing as a metric fuck-ton of you all also have the game, I'd assume you're wanting to play online as well in the near future (or at least those who are near finished-to-done with the SP story at the moment...).
The catch is, from what I'm reading, once you pick a side, it's permanent (unless you delete your game data, I'd assume) until you finish the MP "story" or lose all of your 'clan' that you've built up while playing.
So... Firefly or Hunter?Last edited by JayDizzle; 06-16-2013, 03:45 PM.Comment

Online it a lot of fun. Can't just sprint around and shoot. Ammo is scarce and if you run then enemy knows exactly where you are. It forces you to use teamwork and be aware of your surroundings.
