Just made it to Winter. Fuck me sideways.

I was drinking kinda heavily last night and here were my thoughts as I transitioned from Fall to Winter.

 

Joel getting stabbed through the mid-section. You serious? My intoxicated self was standing in my living room yelling at the TV that Joel couldn't die as I struggled to walk and Ellie was fucking badass. I didn't think I was that emotionally sucked into the game but, holy fuck. Unbelievable.

Hands down, best game I have ever played on my PS3. I'm emotionally invested more than I have ever been with a video game. I cannot wait to go through all the spoilers in this thread after I finish the game.

Right with you, I too just started winter and finished my 1st major encounter. It was awesome how it started.....

 

Ellie hunting the dear then running into the shady cats and a world of shit just breaking loose. I could have sworn that I read a review that said you never got to play as Ellie. Fucker probably never finished the game. I dont want it to end

I am really talking myself into buying this, but I'm going to be away for about 10 days and I'm afraid that I will miss the MP zeitgeist (I already beat the SP).

Nah, I picked it up from Redbox with a free rental code and beat the SP (I believe the MP isn't even available with the rental so I didn't try it). I liked the SP so much I knew I would want to play it again but I don't play a lot of MP and would only really cave at 60 bucks if I was confident that people would still be playing regularly here.

just unlocked everything in last of us multiplayer and suddenly my interest in the multiplier has dissipated

after playing the online for a good chunk of time I have found that the multiplayer has a fundamental flaw in it

 

It does not promote winning but instead promotes point farming, even going so far as to encourage letting the other team win or tie to get more points. This has made the experience less fun because instead of trying to focus on the strategy of eliminating the other team, I am instead focused on getting enough points to keep my clan alive. Supply Chain is also broken if you have clan members totaling over 80 because it is almost impossible to get more than 70 parts in that mode. Just some observations after a week of playing the online

I finished a game last night that ended up with enough parts to get 83 parts. Not including what I picked up on the map
